Hi everyone...I've been a lurker for several years (sorry!)...and am a sort of on/off hair grower.
I was just curious if it's possible for a fairly light Blond haired person's hair to naturally become darker. I'm in my early 20's with a sort of lightish golden blond hair colour...but I have dark (like...very very dark red) facial hair and I'm finding more and more dark brown hairs on my arms and elsewhere.
What do you think?
Definitely, I'm blond myself but my facial hair however little of it there is, is dark black. My arm hair has also been darkening and even my roots a bit over the years as I used to be light light blond back when I was very young. I am now 17, I can see my self being a brownish colour in the future.

When I was like 2, my hair was so blond it was almost white. Now I am 23 and my hair is dirty blond, closer to a brown.
My eye color has changed as well, from a pure dark brown to a greenish brown.
It is a normal phenomenon as far as I know!
Interesting...My hair has darkened slightly over time...but is still a light yellow and most definitely blond. That's why these dark brown hairs that have been cropping up are very unusual!
Yes It happens. My brother in-law had almost pure white hair before he was 10, then his hair gradually changed to this color.
(sorry, he's not a longhair any more)

Everyone on my maternal side o/t family start'd out flaxen blonde and brown-eyed. No one EVER retain'd that light of a blonde, most darkening, as they (we!) matured into either a brunette (!) or just a darker, ash blonde.
And on he other hand, that is, on my father's side o/t family tree, very fair-complect'd, freckle-faced redheads, blue or green eyes. Me? I've got a salt-and-red-pepper beard (LOL!) when I grow it, ash blonde into light brown head hair, torso hair that's ash colour'd, arm and leg hair that's light blonde.
ALSO, be it known by these tenets, Draconis, during the summer months when I stay ourdoors in the sunlight, love those state-sanction'd nature preserves to hike in, ah yes, my hair lightens about two to three shades up.
Yours in naturally multi-colour'd, longhair'd camaraderie,

Absolutely. In my case when very very young my hair was just about white. By 5 it was light brown. By college a medium dark brown. By 30 almost so dark it was on the verge of black. So yes, it can happen.
yeah, my natural hair color actually changes with the seasons....during the summer I am a complete blonde, with a little bit of a strawberry undertone, and during winter it turns dishwater blond. nearly light brown.....though I dye my hair with henna so nobody really sees the color change...hate both of my natural hair colors but I like the red :)
I used to have very light blonde hair when i was younger, now it's like dirty blonde/dark blonde:D
In some spots it's darker than elsewhere.
Mine does the same thing. Mine's been platinum blonde since I was young, and it gradually get's darker every few years. I guess it's normal. Maybe the pigment darkens as you get older. Even if so, Blonde hair is just a color, it doesn't make you NOT a long hair =)
Hope this helps,
Josh
I was a toe head as a child, and my hair became darker as I grew older and almost dark reddish toned brown by 40. I didn't like it so kept my hair bleached for 20 years, which I enjoyed, but decided I was becoming too old to be a blond with no hint of gray. Unfortunately I ahd to cut it to get rid of the contrast between bleach and nature, but now it is shoulder length again and I am due a photo update.
Now that I am getting more gray, my hair is looking lighter again.
My beard has been white for 20 years, and I wish my hair would make the complete transition, but as I age, it becomes somewhat weaker and I do not want any chemical treatments to damage it futher.
MY S.O. who is younger than I am by 16 ys. has a dark moustache, but in the last 10 years his hair has become an enviable silver, like Sam Elliott.
I still bleach the hair on my arms and legs as summer comes, and the finge of hair on my neck to make it more invisible, because I resist any hair cutter's attempt to give me a "neat" undercut.
Otherwise I am happy with nature.
