I posted this as a response to an earlier thread in which Josh mentioned his length goal was "terminal".
Here's a fairly simple formula for estimating what your terminal length might be - some version of this has probably been posted here before, but I think it's been a while:
T = (G*H)/(S*30)
You need to know (or estimate) three things:
1. # hairs on your head (H)
2. Average # hairs you shed each day (S)
3. Average monthly hair growth rate (as a decimal).(G)
For #1, use 80,000 for red hair, 100,000 for brown or brunette, and in your case, use 120,000 for blonde.
For me, I have brown hair, my average growth rate about 0.6 inches per month, and I shed about 50 hairs per day. So the formula works out like this:
T=(0.6*100,000)/(50*30) = 60,000/1500 = 40"
See, Math can be fun!

yes but what is 40?
40 years old?
40 months?
40 decades?
40 is inches...so about 3 feet, 4 inches from root to tip...
That puts me at 16". I think I am past that.
so my terminal length should be about 50". egads. i don't have the patience for that, so i guess i'll keep it about where i have been, 30-36".
