Well, I promised pics of my hair after I got it cut, and so here they are!
The fact is, I'm actually glad I got it cut. For me, the trouble of keeping long hair outweighed the benefits of having it. Plus, it was all I had ever had, and the curiosity of short hair had been tugging at me for years.
Also, I've only gotten positive feedback from those around me. The word "hot" has been tossed around for the first time concerning me, which I must admit is nice. :)
Now...even though I can't call myself a longhair anymore (and fankly, happily so), that doesn't mean I'm not still a longhair at heart. I fully support everyone here, and I'm glad this board exists. I think - ironically - that I'll be posting more now than I ever did.
Some men were born for long hair.
Thanks for the update and we all have to do what is right and comortable for ourselves and no one else!
Cheers,
John.B
You do look very nice with short hair as well. I can understant the use of the word, "hot," in the same sentence as your name. I too can understand the need for a change certainly. However, I bet $50 that you begin to grow it back within the next two years. Not saying that you will, but my best projection...
I must say that's interesting and I'm glad it's working for you
and people think your hot. You have to do what you think is
best for yourself.
I imagine a former longhair can continue to post
and cntribute. After all you have past experiences you can
share with those in the process of growing their hair and
we always welcome support from people. Like you said your
a longhair at heart.

It is always best to be glad, for to be glad is to be happy which will prevent one from being sad.
Long or short you have great hair. Good Luck with hopefully your new growing adventure

Hi Adaidh,
As I remember, you had said in one of your earlier posts (before actually going through w/ this haircut), that you've had long hair for a long, long time, --- including having it waist-length, mid-back, etc....
I also vaguely remember you saying that you haven't posted here very often; but, that you've been a long-time lurker and friend / supporter of MLHH, and pro-longhair in general (or something similar to that, as I recall)...
Personally, as much as I am always heart-broken to see a GREAT head of hair such as yours severed from its original owner (AKA you!!), I totally understand and support your recent decision. It is YOUR hair, and YOUR life, and only YOU can decide what's best for you --- and THAT is, "the spirit of being a longhair!"
When I read your earlier threads about your intention to cut and reasons for wanting to go short, the selfish part of me wanted to plead w/ you to not go through with it; but, I know better... For one thing, you didn't sound one bit "wishy-washy" (lol). I've lived on planet Earth too long to not know the difference between when someone needs a little encouragement to not give into society's pressure to snuggle up to the scissors, --- and when a man has his mind solidly made up, after having thought through his choices thoroughly.
You strike me as a very independent thinker (if you weren't, you wouldn't have felt comfortable posting what you did here). My experience just so happens to be exactly opposite from yours, in that I was not allowed to grow my hair out when young, as you did (my father would not allow even SLIGHTLY "long" hair in his household, --- so, I left home at age 18, in order to be free to make my own choices; but my jobs that I got at the time still had hair length restrictions written into their dress codes). I had a lot of summers, in fact, where my dad gave me and my brothers NO choice whatsoever re. his making us all have buzz cuts every June...
So, even though to others our outward appearance will look very different (especially as far as hair-length goes, not to also mention age - lol), on the inside, there is surprisingly much about us that is the same.
I want to die an old geezer with hair down to my butt, or even longer... You, on the other hand, have already fulfilled all your long hair dreams, --- and have had the freedom apparently all your life to try whatever hair length and style your curiosity has wished for you.
When I cut off my waist-length hair in Y2K, the experience devastated me; but, the fruitage from that experience was that this is how I discovered that I needed to commit to long hair for life (and that having long hair for me was not just a temporary, "phase")...
Unlike me, however, intuitively somehow I knew you would NOT be devasted after your own haircut. It sounded like you were ready to enter into a whole new "chapter" of your life, --- and that shorter hair for some reason would be symbolic of freedom from a long-time burden, --- am I right?
Go in peace. But, I hope you feel free to come back here often & post here, anyway (regardless of your hair-length), --- because to me, I still a longhair's heart!!
My best to you!

PS - Just for the record, though... I still think you looked WAAAAAY hotter with your hair long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
