Guys and Gals
How to deep-conditioning the hair?. I tried the following in different times and still feel the hair so dry I think it might catch fire if walk under the sun at noon.
1. Washed with conditioning instead of shampoo
2. Used deep conditioning creams, meant to be use one a week but I tried up to 3 times a week. No result.
3. Used Silicon after bath to hydrate the hair.
I hear about treatments using olive oil or something like that.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Res.-
One thing that I've heard of is to do it like a mud-pack, really coat the hairs, wrap the hair around your head and put on a plastic shower cap, then use one of those hood-style hair dryers. The warmth makes the cuticle on the hairs open, so the conditioner can get in, or so the theory goes.
Disclaimer: I have the opposite problem, so I haven't tried it myself.
Uhm... "mud-pack" I think I've seen one of those at the pharmacy I always go. I'll keep that in mind. Never tried one of those.
Thanks.

Great description !! I also have dry hair (and live in a very dry area). I shampoo my hair (or even get it wet) only when absolutely necessary, choosing just to use a conditioner when showering. When I do shampoo, I follow with deep conditioning using olive oil. Depending on your schedule, leave it it as long as possible and then rinse it completely out using a standard conditioner. Also try just a drop of Jojoba Oil when you style your hair.
Let us know if this works for you.

Walter, yes, I was actually walking on a dry place on a sunny day at 39°C (aprox) and I felt I was gonna catch fire :P
I'll try the olive oil. Do I use it when washing my hair?, Like shampoo it first, then olive oil, wait, then rinse?.

I shampoo with a very mild (and diluted) baby shampoo, rinse well, then work in the olive oil.....you can leave it in for just a few minutes (shave, brush your teeth, etc...or better yet leave it in for a while....read a book, clean your fishtanks, etc), then rinse it all out using an over-the-counter conditioner, rinse that out well also. Let it air dry.
Res,
Before you try olive oil go to the local health food/herbal store and see if they have coconut balm. It comes in a jar and looks a lot like shortening. It is great to use on your hair as a deep conditioning treatment a couple of times a month. I melt it down in the jar in a sinkful of warm water then rub it through my hair, wrap a towel around it and kick back at home for the next 3-4 hours. Then shampoo. It's light and not too greasy and it is completely odor less.
Hope that helps.
"coconut balm"... never heard of it, gonna ask for it next time I hit the store.
Thanks!
Try the George Michael 12 minute conditioner. You will have even better results if you use a heat-cap.
If you can get to a George Michael long hair salon, try the 1 hour conditioning treatment. You won't believe the results!
