I've been growing my hair for about 13 months (it was quite short; no longer than about 2"), and I've noticed that the hair around my balding temples seems to fall out & grow back more than the rest. There are many short hairs in those areas. My hair isn't long enough to tie back yet, but when it is, it seems to me those hairs would stick up and look funny. The guys I've seen who tie their hair back, even quite tightly, don't seem to have any such problem.
Have any of you experienced this? Any suggestions?
Having short bangs would take care of it just as well as when my hair was short, but I'm pretty sure I don't want the long-hair-with-short-bangs look.
Thanks,

I just took a look in the mirror. The hair around my temples is about nine or ten inches long. Annoyingly, it sometimes comes out of pony tails. Going further down, the hair right in front of my ears (sideburns) grows only about 2 inches. It doesn't bother me. I guess I'm lucky enough to have a fairly pleasing length distribution. If yours sticks out and you don't like that, try applying some gel. That can really make a big difference.
