Just got back from my barber. Other than the fact that he didn't have anything to hold my hair up while shaving the back of my neck (he borrowed a hair tie), it went really well. I'm quite happy with the result. I asked for him to try to even up the back a bit and trim the beard back to "respectable" proportions.
I think that he was happy to have a long term customer back and took extra care. I've been going to him for almost 20 years with a recent gap of over a year. I'll definately be going back to see him for my next trim.
Unfortunately for most people on this board, he's located in rural south-western Ontario.
that hat looks awfully familiar...
the trim looks nice! always good to hear about a successful cut, with so many barber's from 'fleet street' attacking the brotherhood. haha!
Hello Andrew, Really an excellent trim. Your barber seemed to "tune in" to your hair and what I now see is that the natural way your hair falls has been accentuated. Your hairline is very nice and that subtle wave in the front looks great. Very nice in the back with the wave at the bottom. It sounds like you have trust with this barber and that he was on the right wavelength (pardon the pun). I wrote earlier about the "styled" hair I saw in Paris. Your hair exemplifies that very subtle styling I was referring to. Are you going to go longer? I think it could easily lengthen another six or more inches and look excellent. Thanks again for sharing the photo - it inspires me! Best, Johnnie
Johnnie - thank you for your kind comments. I also really like the way my hair now looks. My current plan is to grow out about another 8-10 inches but we'll see how that goes as time goes on. I'm very pleased to find that a barber that I trusted when I had short hair continues to deserve that trust now.
