Today marks my one year anniversary since I last did any drugs or got drunk and I'm damn proud. One year of hair growth behind me and I'm still strong thanks to all of you.
I dont have a new picture yet but I like this one a lot haha.
Happy New Years and Happy hair growing!
-animosity
Now that IS a milestone to be damn proud of! Growing hair's easy but kicking such strong habits now that is WORK!
There are so many cool things to get high on instead, listening to music is one of my favorite highs :)
Happy sober New Year to you too, enjoy the night!
It's been seven years and counting since I "tied one on" to close out the old year.... I took up weightlifting not long after I stopped drinking and am in as good a physical shape as I've ever been.
Congratulations on completing your first year of sobriety and raise a glass of water (or protein shake) for many, many more.
Congratulations, that is a lot to be proud of!
Happy 2008
Bruce
Ex-cell-ent, young Master Animosity, ex-cell-ent!

Keep it growing,
David
That is a very good picture and congratulations on your sobriety.
jeffrey.
That is very, very respectable, Animosity. Congratulations on reaching such a wonderful anniversary, and may you continue to stay well in 2008 and beyond. Take care. =)

Congrats on your one year of being sober. It's not always an
easy goal to achieve but a worthy one. My new year will be a
sober one as I'll be at work so a toast to the new year with Mountain Dew instead of Champagne.
Cheers
Kevin
It's a good way to live. Stick with it.
Good job, keep it up! Pic looks great, too!
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2008,
dino

Hey Dude congratulations on your anniversary and may 2008 treat you well!Nothing is better than kicking a bad habit or two as your hair and body will certainly benefit for sure. That pic you posted is a good choice as you look very contented in it:)Hope to see you around alot next year with more outstanding updates!Take care my friend:) Mark
You certainly have every reason to be proud. Your example may inspire others
to give it a try.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes for the new year.
animosity, Congratulations on your milestones and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
peace, jonalbear
Congrats on your success!!! Hair looks great too.
Funny how people are so different. I am at 37 years with very little time off as a partaker of the sacred plant Cannabis. I don't drink or do any other drugs (does tobacco count?). But as they say in the temple ... Cannabis isn't for everybody, but the choice is. Glad to see you are holding to your choice.
Congratulations, Animosity! Kicking those dirty habits is a tough thing to do but you did it. You should be damn proud of yourself! You are an inspiration! keep setting a good example and have a happy and healthy new year.
Hey Animosity,
Overcoming drug and alcohol addiction is a HUGE accomplishment in life, and one year clean & sober ain't nothin' to sneze at!!!
A lot of my favorite dance partners and closest friends are in 12-Step programs, --- some of whom have been clean and sober for over 15 years now. I've been to a lot of AA meetings myself (as a guest of 2 of my closest friends, at different times), --- especially to celbrate and as a show of support at Sobriety Birthday time.
My friend Christina, one of the friends referred to above, even introduced me to her fellow AA members one time as, "Here's my weird friend Ken that I told you all about, --- you know, the one that was raised a Christian Scientist, who's never been drunk!" Everyone oooed and ahhhed at me, as if I was from Mars (lol)!! The fact of the matter is: that when I was very young, I was very sheltered from drugs & alcohol. In my late teen years, I was also very religious, so intentionally avoided both drugs and alcohol, --- a period which lasted well into my early-30s. By the time I turned 35, I was no longer too keen on organized religion, and started going to a lot of C&W dance bars, and other similar places that served alcohol. But, because I made some nice friendships early-on in some of the dance classes offered there, --- with people that also just so happened to be in 12-Step programs --- I decided that since I had enough problems in life WITHOUT adding drugs or alcohol into the mix, that I might as well NOT get started with drinking or experimenting w/ any other recreational substance... and whenever I'd hear a friend of mine tell their story of how difficult and how long and hard the road was to recovery for them, I decided I needed to be grateful that I never got into it in the first place.
I have been told by some of these friends that I have a VERY "addictive" personality, --- so, my life could have just as easily turned out very differently... And besides, I am LIVING PROOF that a person doesn't even need drugs or alcohol to mess up their lives as an adult, --- I can do that well enough on my own, thank you (lol)!!
Seriously, though, you have a hell of a lot to be proud of, --- both in your one-year of sobriety, AND in that great-looking head of hair of yours!!!
All the best to you!!
- Ken in San Francisco
Happy New year Dude! you SHOULD BE PROUD!!
heres to an even better year 2008!
Keep up the great Work.
you should listen to the album "The Herion Diaries" by Sixx AM
(Nikki Sixx from Motley crue) a Great and Wonderful Album about comming through addictions of drugs and Drinks, the only album that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, The Lyrics are fantastic and could help even more on your Great acheivement.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
Ozzy
Congratulations !!
It is a big deal to be able to put down an addiction and you are fortunate to have done so at a young age. Keep up the good work and as some will say, you only have to do it "One Day at A Time"
(I've put together a few myself...sneaking up on 20 years)
Walter
Congratulations! It is a good idea to stay away from the booz and drugs and that way you won't wake up with a damn hangover the next morning like I did.
jeffrey
Congratulations on your current milestone and they hair has come long leaps and bounds in 2007 and I'm sure will do the same in 2008. I did have a couple of vodka drinks to see the new year in friends.
Still on Jan 13th is year it will be 2 years since I gave up smoking and feel so much better for it.
Happy new year to you.
Cheers,
John.B
Fantastic! 8 years, 3 months and 26 days clean and sober here!!
Happy New Years! I have given up drinking much for at least the rest of this year too. While I won't ever give up alcohol completely, I think it will be good to keep a clear head. So far I have had 1, 2, and 0 drinks the first 3 days of the year. Pretty good, I think.
