I recently started to take Biotin 300 mcg. What is the suggested dosage to get the best results. I was thinking 600 to 900mcg per day?
It's a 'B' vitamin, doesn't build up in your body, you get rid of any excess. No toxicity known, according to reports I've read.
I take 3200 mcg/day (2 1000 mcg in UltraHairNourish and 2 600 mcg Biotin) and notice no ill effects, but my hair is going well. YMMV.
DICK - HOW LONG IS YOUR HAIR, AND WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT GROW RATE PER MONTH.?
I AM TAKING VITAMINS FOR THE HAIR, AND I HAVE FOUND THAT: ShenMin DOES A GREAT JOB ON IMPACTING HAIR GROWTH, MY HAIR IS GROWING OVER AN INCH PER MONTH. MY HAIR LENGTH IS AROUND SIX INCHES+. I ALSO TAKE
"GOOD'N NATURAL"-"VITAMIN FOR HAIR" AND "GOOD'N NATURAL"-"SKIN,HAIR AND NAILS FORMULA".
THE TOTAL BIOTIN INTAKE PER DAY IS: ALSO 3200 mcg daily. PLUS THE ADDITIONAL VITAMINS ARE OF GREAT HELP TOO.
Yeah, I think Shen Min's good but its wayyyy to ex for me :(. I'm currently taking 1200mcgs Biotin/day and my hair growth is slighly more than 1"/mth. Before that, it was about 0.75"/mth. Good enough for me :)
To Mike:
Note that each individual has a fixed maximum rate of hair growth which is genetically programmed (similarly, for hair quality and thickness). In order to achieve these maxima, a balanced meal is required. Hence, if you found by taking Biotin or some hair vitamins does not increase your hair growth or improve your hair quality, it means your nutrient intake is currently sufficient for maximum benefits to your hair. Save your money then :)
Sorry, the following message is addressed to Marco (LOL)
After about 15 months, below the shoulders on sides, bangs just down to my chin. I've sorta stopped tried to measure overall length, since I decided I like what I see in the mirror. Probably 20", sides prob 10". Growth rate was prob about 0.6"/month- not spectacular, but steady. I sure would have liked to see an inch/month or more (heh)!
Some of it's age, too. I'm 57, starting to thin, and think I've read that growth slows a bit as you get older...
