Being in my early 30s and starting to go grey I find it harder and harder to style and/or find a style that dosent reflect the "hair bands of the 80s- any clues, anyone?
stop worrying about what others are going to think. get a sense of humor about it- buy a plain white t-shirt and have "i'm not in a rock band" screened on it.
10 POINTS, J.S.!!!
Seriously, Patrick, don't sweat it. You know what looks good on you and/or what you want to look like. Go for it!
I'm 44, 50% grey (salt/pepper) and enjoying "shoulder+" length. I pull it back in a pony tail for "professional" purposes, but still enjoy the looks and comments I get from the stuffy conservative community who hasn't seen a longhair in over 30 years - they're getting over it.
If you want to change your appearance slightly, find a stylist you can trust - one who will work with(!) your length, not against it.
The boy-band look is on the way out. Check any men's fashion magazine or contemporary clothing store and you'll start to see longer lengths on the guys. It's not past the shoulders yet, but it's not the close-cropped look any more.
Keep on growin'!
I have hair down to my waist, it is maybe 85% grey, and i'm
47 years old. Enjoy your hair, never mind what other people
say. They are just jealous of your hair (many of the guys
are jealous that you even have hair).
Do you have any photos of your waist length hair to share with us? Hope you do!
John
Nope. Don't. The camera has decided it doens't want to work this week. (Time to get a new camera).
Maybe i can't see the obvious, but what does the fact that your hair is turning grey has to do with hair bands of the 80's? Well, like the other guys said, just have fun with your hair.
