A huge THANKS!!!! to all you guys that I had the wonderful priviledge, pleasure, and honor of working with so closely over the last (#??) few years (I can't remember exactly when I started helping out as a moderator here - lol), --- you are an AMAZING bunch!!!
I hated the idea of having to leave; but, as we all know, the only thing "permanent" in life is change... So, I'm back to just being an ordinary MLHH guy again.
For those who don't know, this place runs as smoothly as it does because there are volunteers who put in a lot of time, talent, and technical abilities... I had none of the talent nor any technical ability whatsoever; but, I did at least put in some TIME (lol)!!
I'd also like to send out an especially DOUBLE-HUGE THANK YOU to three people in particular, --- without whom, MLHH would just never be the same (or, more honestly... in many ways, just plain wouldn't even BE)... They are:
1) Victor - who is the visionary who started this site in the first place;
2) Bill - whose technical wizardry with computers and tireless hours behind-the-scenes is unmatched by any mortal I have ever met!!
3) Justin - who, as our first official MLHH President, handles more headaches behind-the-scenes than you can possibly ever imagine, --- and yet, all done with a smile and a graciousness as if on a Caribbean holiday!
These 3 men are TOPS!!!
I should also add that another huge THANK YOU should also go to Scott (Absalom), for his willingness to step up to the plate as our Treasurer, --- as well as to Matt, who does such a great job as Secretary... 2 other volunteer MLHH jobs that I have no talent for even remotely attempting to do!
This is such a terrific community, and I feel very honored to be a part of it, --- especially to rub elbows with such talent! Many thanks also for everyone's patience w/ me and all my computer-stupidity (just think of it as fodder for hard-earned blonde jokes - lol)!!
Oh! And I almost forgot: thank you also, Jason, for taking such good care keeping up with the wonderful Links page, as I can't imagine MLHH without it!
And to everyone else on the Crew: thanks so much for putting up w/ all my stupid jokes!!!!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hi Ken
First of all I'd like to wish you a very happy and fulfilling New Year. Now I have to admit I was very surprised to read your post today regarding your stepping down as a moderator of the mlhh. I'm probably not the only one who thought you'd be a lifer on the crew.LOL.But as you said the only thing permanent in life is change and I guess that is true as people do move on in life.I though felt you represented this board with class and wisdom and gave it a very human touch even though you don't consider yourself a computer geek.Well its great that the crew is well balanced with technical guys as well as great communicators such as yourself.A job well done as it was always a pleasure on how you conducted yourself while acting as a mod.Anyway I'm glad that you will still be here as just a regular Joe like the rest of us and that you are not leaving totally as that would be a huge lose for this community. Finally Ken I know I didn't get the chance to comment on your most recent pics. Your trim done by Even looks spectacular and your length is awesome. What a fantastic return from your Y2K mishap. You have such great hair now that even if it is nearing terminal you just can't complain. Also the hiking pics looked excellent as the west coast is just so beautiful and I'm looking forward to my trip out there this year.Probably will start looking into a date very soon when I'll be heading out.And finally the pic with your one kitty is cute as that is one great looking cat:)So Ken thanks for the update as I know you must have given it much thought before the final decision.Have a great Holiday my friend and see you down the board:)Mark
Hi Ken,
And I would also like to thank YOU as well, for being the wonderful guy that you are, with a big heart and a fabulous sense of humour. Although I am only a tiny cog in the wheel that is the hyperboard crew, it has been a genuine pleasure working with you on the team.
Alos, I would like to wish you a VERY Happy New Year, and the best of success with your future endeavours, and may 2008 be blessed with happiness and good health for you.
Take care,
David
Ditto, Ken. I think it's important to thank Victor, Bill, and all the others involved in the continuing development of this site. I've been a member for quite a while and it's of great comfort to me to come here and show off my length and to document my growth. It's great to see others here doing the same. It's a great resource for information and, for me at least, inspiration, acceptance, and confidence. I really don't know if I would have grown mine out if it wasn't for this site.
I don't know how to thank you guys other than to say, "Thank you all for being there and for taking the time to keep it growin'...hair-wise and otherwise!"
(Raises a glass)
To a great new year that brings happiness and growth to all!
Take care and keep it growin', y'all!
Brett
Growing My Hair Out...Again! Progress Pics
Hi Brett,
I replied to your thread about your update which you posted a few weeks ago, but you did not see my reply. But your hair looks great in this photo, and your progress is amazing for the relatively short time you have been growing it. I checked your progress pictures as well.
Also, happy New Year to you and yours!
Take care,
David
David,
Sorry I missed your last reply. I really do appreciate your comments!
Thanks for the kind words and have a happy new year, my friend!!!
Brett
hey , well i just want to add my voice and thank everybody who made this website work out as well as it is now !! cuz there are alot of helpful info overhere
Glad you started this thread Ken :
I have been hanging around this forum for a few years now and have watched it evolve into a very unique "place"; full of support, respect, concern and humor. I frequent several other forums on other topics and none have the civility of MLHH. I cannot imagine the work that goes on behind the scenes, but it is much appreciated and I add my heartfelt Thanks and Congratulations to all !!
Walter
It was with a bit of sorrow, but also joy, when I deleted you (as you had asked) from the Crew and associated site access last night. The joy, of course, comes from your having gotten what you needed when you came here, making it easier to hereafter get on with your life. To a large extent for many, a stint here is like a stint at college - you learn stuff, and then you hope to graduate. There is both sadness at the world to be missed, and joy at the world that lies ahead, at a graduation.
And, of course, a graduation warrants a hearty, "Congratulations!"
Thanks so much for your presence among the Crew for the time we were able to have you. Your cheerful demeanor and skills at communicating will be greatly missed.
Hugs, and we'll see you around the 'hood,
Bill
It's been great working with you on the crew as well as general interaction on the board. Your sense of humor is unparalleled and I appreciate all of your contributions.
Have a great New Year and hope to see your regular presence still on the board.
Jason
Thanks to you Ken for all of your hard work and good humor on the moderation crew. We will certainly miss you, fortunately you are not going away completely so we will still be able to tell blond jokes :)
I hope all things go well for you and Even this year. :)
Hi Ken,
I would just like to extend me warmest thanks for all your help during your time on the moderation team and it was a great pleasure to have you on board during my time on the team as well. You have made a great contribution to the board via moderation and some of you great humour and the "blonde" jokes and give us a real giggle.
Thanks again and of course hear from you soon and I wish you both a very happy new year.
Cheers,
John.B
Hey Ken
I don't believe that the word has even been invented as of yet that would describe what you have meant to us all, and what you have brought to this board.
There was just something so different and yet so out of this world unique in having you with us all of the time that you were able. Your contributions and what you have done to enrich the Hyperboard are unlike anything I have ever known before. I for one will never forget you and the joy and wisdom you brought "ranch style" to all of us.
Ken, you are nothing short of tops and will be missed greatly.
With every good wish ever thought of to you in the future, and of course always looking forward to whenever you are able to post here and there as your new work schedual allows.
And please remember...........one of these day, just one of these days there may be a knock on the door of the ranch.
Great happiness to you as well as Evan in the year ahead.
Thank you for being you Ken.
Justin~
It's sad to see you leave the crew :-(.....
But, I know you have to.
Just don't be a stranger!
You thank us but we should all thank YOU ken! Your incomparable contributions to this community will NEVER be matched, neither will your AWESOME humor :-) It truly is sad to see the Urban Cowboy leave the ranch, but hey, thats life! I wish you joy, prosperity, and health. Take care Ken and please, don't be a stranger. Drop by the community every chance you get.
Take er' easy amigo.
Hugs!!!!!!!
Chris H
It is sad that you are leaving your position. You do have an extraordinary sense of humor. It almost seems as if you have inserted a little into your farewell posting.
Seriously, I do admire your positive and uplifting attitude.
jeffrey.
You will be missed, Ken. What you lack in computer skills you more than make up for in people skills. Hopefully you will still be a regular here even if no longer moderationg. Have a great 2008.
Long hair forever.
Scott
Ken I want to say thank you for all you've contributed and
although we won't see as much of you we will look forward
to posts with your fantastic sense of humor.
You will be greatly missed among the moderators.
