You seemed so relaxed, spoke like a pro and looked great.
Congratulations. Excellent interview!
Will this be available online? If not, could someone who recorded it possibly make it available? (C'mon, I know some of Bill's fans recorded this!)
Thanks,
Val
...but I can't put it online right now, but I'm sure someone will.
Bill's beard is really long. I noticed that the camera cut off at the halfway point!
They asked Bill if he recognized himself in the mirror. Glads they squeezed in that question!
Since he cannot recognize even his own face he uses other things like hair, etc. to determine that he is indeed looking at himself.
Face and ears can be recognized...maybe even gaps in the teeth and, of course, the voice.
I misspoke. I meant to say: Hair and ears can be recognized. Not face and ears!
If you can send me the video , i will put in on the internet.
I can't wait to see Bill on tv !!
I set up my VCR to tape the show this morning. I can digitize the tape if needed. :-)
I'll try to YouTube the segment.
Bruce
...if you can.. . good idea.
hate to spoil everything but has anyone gotten
permission from Bill and the tv station to put it on
you tube?
could be copyright isues other wise
It is a portion of the show educating the public about a little known medical condition so would probably pass a fair use test even if the copyright holder did ob ject. All of us getting to see Bill is just a nice side effect. :-)
Elizabeth
I didn't think that Bill would mind
it is just that in case the tv station would
raise a fuss.
and yes it is nice to see and hear Bill
"I'll try to YouTube the segment."
That'd be great... thanks, man! Keep us posted...

Hopefully, the PVR worked and I will be able to watch it when I get home from work!
David
Oh how lovely and I'm sure you came over great on the interview but we don't get that channel over here in the UK!
Cheers,
John.B
Well, it's a short segment. Bill looked relaxed and his hair and beard
looked great. I wonder if the make-up department added something
to the hair? Anyway the short interview was fascinating.
No doubt someone here will put it on YouTube soon and then everyone can see it.
Yes, they did put makeup on me. First there was the face lady. She put paste makeup on my cheeks, nose, and forehead. If I did not have a beard, she probably would have put it on my chin, too. She did not put lipstick on me, as they sometimes do to guys on television. My guess is maybe that it would have gotten on the ends of my white mustache hairs and looked really awful! I'm sure she knew that if that were the likely outcome.
Then they sent me to the hair lady. I said to her, "So you are the hair lady! You will really like me, I have lots of hair!" She said they usually like to ponytail it, and I said I usually leave it loose and prefer it that way. She did not say anything more about it and was cool with it. I wondered if she made that comment to women, since the female host to the show had long hair and it most certainly was not in a ponytail. What the hair lady then did was put some pomade on her hands and then she wiped it onto my hair and onto my beard. Then she lightly brushed both. She said, "This will make your hair a bit more shiny."
When I got back to the hotel I cleaned off all the makeup. The hair stuff was not particularly apparent and I just left it in.
Bill
Yes, indeed. It would have been nice to see more, though. Interestingly, Bill, I didn't recognize you at first. I'm still used to your with your beard and hair as you had them when I visited you in SF.
I just watched it. Great job, Bill!
I also thought it was cool that the young boy there, Riley, had longish hair - certainly much longer than the average boy's haircut.
It was nice that attention to drawn to Bill's hair even though it was strictly in the context of helping to recognize an individual rather than him having a longhair identity.
I mean what are the odds of THAT happening! Yes, it was about shoulder length. Great! A future longhair?
They have the part of the program with two women and a boy, but not the part with Bill.
I saw Bill on tv as well! He was great! I really enjoyed the fact that the interview with Bill was about face blindness yet the doctor(on the satellite transmission) and the host kept focusing more of their attention on Bill's beard. That was great!
