Hi there,
Is it just me these days or since the board start does it seem to be about a "pic" a post these days. It's certainly great to see peoples update pics once in a while, unless modern technology has caught me up and we have to be more visual these days. After all we're all here to give positive and encouragement to people growing out their hair. But you don't need to worry I'm not "thinking of cutting my hair" this week lol!

I haven't been here very long myself, but it definetly seems as if there are a lot of picture posts lately. Maybe people are just busy from the holidays.

Hi John,
I have noticed that as well and guess it's due to phones with
cameras and the ease of digital photography. Or perhaps people
have a bit of time on their hands during the holidays.
Some of the photos are a welcome site as it's nice to see people
who have not been around much or new people. I would say that some
post rather a lot of pics of themselves and after a while you
think oh brother not another one. I myself can't recall the last
pic of myself I posted since summer or earlier maybe I'm over due
I better get the camera out, maybe a photo of my length.. LOL

John, Pictures are a very important feature of this site since it concentrates on men's longhair. A picture is worth a thousand words. I tend not to have much time to read lengthy posts and quite frankly I don't read every post. Most of my replies are short and to the point. I don't bother with "thinking of cutting my hair" posts or "here's what I look like now that I've cut my hair" posts. Everyone has a different idea of how the board should be used I guess.

I would say Kevins comments below just about hit the nail on the head. It really was not that many years ago that photos were a bit far and few between and the board had so many valuable tips going on about how to care for the hair, and that is exactly what the guys talked about here and shared with each other as well as give support. There was none of this one time photo and "Hi, here I am" type postings and then that person was never seen nor heard from again.
Times have changed, and so many it seems ("cut hair") statements appear which have nothing to do with Pro Long Hair which this site is all about. (And here I am not talking about trims, more like cut the hair off or real short.) Perhaps some just want attention. Who knows?
In any event, at least to myself, there was alot to be said about earlier times. But as in the real everyday world, things change over time which I guess is considered "normal." (Hmmmmmmmmmm, has "normal" ever really been defined?)
LOL. At least updates can be very inspirational to guys in process of growing out their hair and there sure have been many great ones no question. But of the dialogues of hair care tips once abundent?

I agree with you completely, John. It seems like some people just post pics so they can get complimented without giving much support to others.
I always thought there were a lot of pictures here. Maybe I should help with some progress pics soon, it's been over a year since my last proper update.
Or regress pictures, I suppose, cause it's gotten shorter since then...
IMHO people are missing the obvious. Years ago when you
wanted to get a photo on the internet you had to slap a roll
of film into the instamatic, drag yourself down to the
local store, get the film developed, drag the photos home,
then and then if you're lucky in later years you had
a scanner to send it here. Flash forward to 2007 and
it is now much easier to take a photo and put it on the net.
