I'm growing my hair out long but I have extremely thick hair that hardly moves when it's windy. Should I get the barber to thin it every 3 or 4 months to make it lighter so my hair, eventually long hair can actually move around when I shake my hair. That's what I want.
Do not thin it out. When it gets longer, the wind will move it more than you want. :-) Thinning will make the wind move it even more. Thinning will also make your hair's motion when you shake your head to be less, because your hair will weigh less.
I had lunch with my wife today. We are both teachers, at different schools. A colleague of hers came by while we were eating and said: my god your hair! Do you know how many people (women) around here would give anything to have enough hair to put in a ponytail like that? And it's so thick, too! I took that to be a compliment. I have thick hair, and I have not thinned or cut at all since I began growing out a year ago. Don't thin it.
