Hello MLHH, long time no talk. I wanted to let everyone know that I am still growing, just been extremely busy with 2007 year end at work plus taking Assistant Chief at a small volunteer fire department close to where I live. I am up to 10 months of growth now, but I am going to wait for 1 year to post updates. Anyway, on to my question:
I am having a small problem with dry scalp. It is not extremely bad, I just have a couple spots that are giving me problems. I was needing some opinions on how to get rid of it. Here is my basic routine. I do wash and condition every day with Erbal Essences(that is what my wife uses LoL) The reason for daily is that I smoke and like to wash the smell out. I always air dry to keep from damaging. Could my problem be due to overwashing? Would washing less maybe help clear this up? My hair looks very healthy and I get many compliments on it. Just these couple spots are getting on my nerves. Thanks inadvance for the help and keep it growing! Brian
Hey Brian, Quenyan here, naturopathic weirdo extraordinaire. I used to REALLY like Herbal Essence brand shampoo in the seventies. Very freak. All of us freaks and our girlfriends used it. Marketting. Yeah. Then, yo, look'd at the ingredients. Formaldehyde. Oh. You've heard of embalming fluid, haven'tcha? Time to shift products usage again. Plant extracts. I LOVE Dr. Bronner's liquid castille soap nowadays, available at health food stores everywhere. Pricy, to be sure, but, it'll clear your dry scalp probs right up. Mill Creek brand Biotin also. Dietary changes could can also help, too. Ever try fenugreek tea? It ain't that bad. Ever try to stop smoking? Think of all the ca-ca they put in industrial tobac, bro.
Best regards for an end to dry scalp,
Quenyan (RicK)
Hey,
I agree with Quenyan about the shampoo issue. I really like Lush "New" solid because it has only one synthetic ingredient that is made from coconut. I also wash daily. But I just use just a little, just at the scalp. I discovered I was using WAY too much shampoo, oversaturating to the point of dryness.
