Hi everyone, many months ago i posted here explaining that i was 20y old and losing my long hair. I went to see a doctor and started taking "avodart" pills (one every night), using an anti-hairloss shampoo, taking some vitamins and applying "minoxidil 5%" on my head every night before going to bed. I have to say that i am very happy with the results, the doctor said that it could take many months to do anything or could even not work at all, but after 2 or 3 months i could see the difference. My Head is much more healthy, and i cant see my scalp on the crown anymore, even if pull the hair to the sides i can see more hair growing. I have lots of small hair growing all over my head, so you can see small hairs growing in the middle of shoulder lenght hairs, so for the time being i just use it on a ponytail.
...Congratulations! Glad to hear these treatments work for you. In the past there was no hope but today there are all kinds
of treatments to try.
Good luck!
Thanks Nick;
That was a great report and good news that finally there are some hair loss products and treatments that are medically sound and now just "snake=oil" scams.
Please keep us posted on your progress

Good luck mate, hope you get good results from it, though personally if i start going bald ime gonna let it happen, fighting it and maybe not seeing any improvements would be an upsetting proccess for me /:
Well, i tried and it worked...so im gonna do this while it works...if it didnt work i would just accept my baldness.
Yeah, right some of us remember thinking that. When you start to loose it on top, check back with us and tell us if you're still "gonna let it happen."
Hi Nick,
I am delighted to hear this news, and so happy for you. I will be looking forward to supporting you in your journey to long hair, and my best of luck that all your length goals will be met.
Take care, and keep it growing,
David
Hi Nick,
It's nice to know that this is all working out well for5 you! My receding hairline is rather minor (even though at one time in my life it bothered me tremendously; but, hey, ANY hair loss is an UNWELCOME thing for us "hair-aholics" - lol)....
I've narrated this before; but, just in case you never read it or were here then, I'll narrate this story again:
I once saw a guy here in San Francisco who was COMPLETELY bald on top and in front; but, what hair he did have went all the way down to his knees!!!! He looked FANTASTIC, --- and it cured me from being self-conscious about my own minor case of thinning hair as I've gotten older...
Regardless of whatever happens in your own hair-future, my best to you!!
- Ken
Hi there, Nick!
I use Avodart as well. I believe that it is the most effective medication on the market today. I have had great success with it. I also use Rogaine and the two together work very nicely.
I heard on the radio that within 5 to 10 years that science will be able to clone/multiply hair follicles and other body tissue, thus, bladness, etc, will be a thing of the past. Intercytex is one of the companies that is developing the technology. BTW, GlaxoSmithKline has studies underway in Korea concerning Avodart as a 5~AR inhibitor and I'm sure that it will soon get the green light from the FDA for the treatment of hairloss.
