Hello everyone!
So, the idea popped into my mind around 6pm on Friday evening, and I got in my car and drove 10 hours straight, all the way to Washington. Of course, my wonderful friend (and now regular travel buddy) Lindsey was with me, as she now lives in the DC area. So, I spent most of Saturday sightseeing and goofing around in the nation's capital...
I said hi to Ben...
Sat in front of the most famous residence in the world...
Made a quick side-trip to Canada... ;)
Toured where I might someday work...
Felt rather small...
And braided my hair...
Not too bad for only 6 hours!
I'm James Raymond, and I approve this message. =)
But seriously, it was a great time and there are a bunch more pics on my site (click my avatar). In March, I'll be going back to DC, but also visiting New York City. Until then, keep it growing, y'all! =D

Hi James
I give you credit for just hitting the road like that for 10 hrs. but thats what makes it so much fun I guess. You picked a great day to hit DC as the weather has been quite nice lately especially for January.I havn't been to DC since a couple years before 9/11 so I imagine the whole atmosphere must be quite different than when I was there.Definately in the security dept.that is.I remember when I went down they were having the funeral for the capital police officer who got shot on the steps of the Capital building. There were flowers layed all over the steps there.Quite different times now though.Well I guess you saw tons of sights during your trip like I did as its definately a good place to visit. If your are planning a trip to NYC do let me know as I'm a short 25 minute train ride to Penn Station by MSG.It would be so cool to meet you in the city.Anyway too your hair still is looking fantastic and should you get a job in DC you'll be one of the few longhairs working for the government.LOL.Take care my friend and be safe.Mark
great photos james; i really enjoyed your travel-log. I admire your spontenaity.
I see you've got a trusty bottle of Sam Adams there with you... didn't you just turn 21? :-)
Splendid photos James and as always a pleasure seeing how well the long hair is progressing. And it IS progressing in a most magnificent way.
Thanks for sharing excerpts from your trip with all of us.
Justin~
Hi James,
These are the most wonderful photos, you have a real talent for showcasing your journey to long hair in the best way. Washington is such a graet place to travel to, and I hope to swing through this as part of my road trip next year.
Your hair keeps getting better and better, it is healthy and filled with shine, and your special friend is very pretty as well. Also, that is a fabulous braid, and is a gentle reminder that I have to learn to braid some time. I especially like the beer bottle in the background, lol, this must have been the reward for such an awesome barid!
Also, thank you for your kind words about my "spur of the moment" update which I posted yesterday, which was totally unplanned!
Take care,
David
Great update !
I particularly like the "half-braid".
D.C. is a wonderful place to visit....try it in the Spring when the Cherry blossoms are in bloom and don't miss the Smithsonian !
Thanks for Sharing

I work in DC. Maybe we could say hi if you come back?
And if anyone does want to meet up the next time I'm there (granted I have time), that'd be great. =) Thanks all!
