Given the curly nature of my hair, I'm not sure if I grow it out more than it is here, if it will have a more 'straighter' and manageable texture. What do you guys think?, I want to grow it out another year with a few little trims in between.
...speaking as an artist, the current length suits you, but if you want it
longer, well, why not!
Good Luck
Keep it going....looks fantastic !!

You will always have curly hair, but it will straighten out a bit
with added length. BTW your hair looks fantastic. Keep growing it
for sure, st.camilus.

I realize that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...but, I REALLY like your hair! I wouldn't want it "straighter" if I were you. It's a bit like those girls who all want to look like Barbie. Why not just enjoy being yourself. "Manageable Texture" could just have to do with the products you're using and the way you're treating your hair.
GREAT hair!!

Sure looks great to me just as it is now. If you grow it longer, with curly hair of this type just a little straighter will occure. Best way to know for sure is just let it grow and see. Then, if you don't like it you could always have it cut back to your present length. But, you may very well like it much better in another year.
O_O Your hair looks killer. It really suits you.
Anyway, it might straighten out a TINY bit if you grow more, but not by much. If you decide not to grow it anymore it's your choice, and it looks AMAZING anyway. XD One of, if not the best head of curly hair I've seen ever.
It may straighten out a little at the roots, because of the weight, but the ends will still be curly.
I'd say go for it. You won't know if you like it longer until you try it. It looks great now, and if you don't like it when it's longer, you can always trim it back. I'm jealous. I wish my hair looked that good. I always wanted dark curls, but it's blonde and wavy. I suppose we all want what we don't have, eh?
You have fantastic curls - they really make your hair. Growing out will surely give you slightly more weight to keep them under control.
Hi St. Camilus,
Your hair is outstanding! You are blessed with thick and shiny curls that look awesome, and I hope you grow it as long as you can. I know that curly hair can be frustrating to grow, but the rewards are WELL worth it!
Keep it growing,
David
Awesome hair! it looks great, well all of you looks great. I think you could grow your hair as long as you want. But I like the lenght it is now.
Beautiful hair!
Paul
Wow, what an amazing crop of hair! That's how I envision my hair turning out after a few years of growing. Hope you don't mind me saving your picture to my computer to serve as a comparison reference. If I have a bad hair day, all I have to do is pull it up and be inspired!
My suspicion is that growing your hair out more won't make much difference to manageability other than adding more gorgeous curls.
How have you been managing your hair during the growing out phase, how long have you been growing your hair?
Cheers.
Its going to be three years since i began growing it out. I get a nice trim every 5 months. I condition every time I wash my hair, but only wash my hair every three days cuz it will dry out curly thick hair. I always put in a leave in conditoner and a frizz control serum. You need any other questions answered I'll be glad to help.
st.camilus, Your hair looks fantastic! Wonderful natural curls. I would stay with that and let it grow!
peace, jonalbear
All I can say is what beautiful hair and curls. I would not be suprised if you've not been asked to do some magazine shoots. Great picture and inspiration of curly longhair.
Cheers,

Hi! Your hair looks great at it's current length and would definitely look great even longer. The picture is great and you look like a model from a men's magazine. Awesome hair!

I would grow it out more than a year I would go two or three but it will hang better longer although still be very curly.
