I get these messages from ITunes music which I normally delete, but today I scanned through and the single of the week caught my eye, a Miami based metal band, Black Tide. They sound pretty good, they have a place on the main stage at OzzFest, and right now they're in England supporting Avenged Sevenfold.
These guys have a great sound... old-school metal for (and from) a new generation. Thanks for sharing, Scooper!

And to think there was a time when Led Zeppelin was considered metal!
;)

Wellll... technically and historically speaking, they are. Maybe not "heavy," but metal, in the true, musical sense of the word. "Metal" as a genre has become so diverse over the past 20 years, there will probably (unfortunately) always be arguments about what is and what isn't metal. But to quote the great Brock Samson, "You gotta problem with the Zep, son?"

Yes, Let's not forgot that it's bands like Zep in the 70's that knocked down the doors for others to follow.

I know these guys, they almost couldnt make it to ozzfest because they werent legal drinking age!
They have a very "rock" sound. Seems to be very safe and mainstream. Not anything I'd listen to in my free time, but that's just my opinion.
Not bad, pretty run of the mill riffs and lyrics, ok thats all.
BTW, if you really want to hear a cool band google Between The Buried & Me. Now thats a band.
Yupp very mainstream and I like a little something more off the wall or extreme.
Cheers,
John.B
Yeah they're a bit bland but then I gravitate to more extreme stuff. Some of the bands John B is working with are very good.
One in particular Seregon.
