This has to be one of the most extreme cases of "dress code" enforcement I've seen.
Students Suspended for Dresscode Violations
Just absurd! Too bad the kids can't suspend him for interupting their education.
That has got to be one of the most racist things I ever heard of. I'm from the states and I thought we were the only closed minded people like that.
The part about the girl's hair being brown and not black was the most infuriating >.<
Agreed, that is totally out of line. It is totally racist, and hair dye can be toxic as well to some people. That principal should be sacked ASAP, and barred from being a principal at any other school for life as well, IMHO.
Scott
Agreed.
However, if you read to the end you will see the comment from the South African Dept. of Education. I agree with the SA government on this one:-
Department of Education spokesperson Ntokozo Mapisa said: "The minister of education has said all schools must utilise all 201 school days for teaching and learning; not a single day must be wasted.
"If chasing learners away is robbing learners of these days, it is not allowed," Mapisa said.
"...and what did you learn in school today, son ??"
I would like to see the school's faculty and curriculum put under
similar scrutiny.....
I would try to send my kids to a different school, they are there
to get an education not be assimilated like the Borg, if they natural have brown or long hair what does it matter? that principal should be fired immediately!!!
Wow, if those demands are so important it would make sense to have a barber on staff in the school to provide the necessary required haircuts and barbering to all the students......and a clothing/uniform store in the school as well.
