You know how they say sometimes it's best not to wash your hair daily? I'm just wondering, does this mean the use of shampoo, or just abstaining from wetting your hair in general?
I shampoo and condition my hair in the morning. I love the feel and look of my hair the same night, or second day after I use the shampoo and conditioner. To keep it like that though, means I would have to take a shower the next day but not even wet my hair. Is this healthy or hygenic though? I have a feeling that by "washing", people mean the use of shampoo, but I just love the feeling of leaving my hair on it's own for a day or two. If I just condition, but still wet it, it'll be softer, but not like if I didn't wet it. It tends to seem drier than it can be, even if I only use the conditioner. I hope you guys understand what i'm trying to say. Does anyone do what i'm suggesting?
Oh, and I really love this community so far. I'm growing my hair out from a buzzcut, and i'm going to be almost 4 months in. I don't think I would have gotten that far if I didn't stumble upon this site. Thanks guys.
Some men here will say you that it's better to not use shampoo too often. This, because, in some shampoo, there is product which, when often used, damaged a little the hair. But it depends on the person ! I think a shampoo every two or three day isn't a problem for a majority of person. By the way, only wetting your hair, even every day, is perfectly safe (even though wet hair is weaker).
Personaly I wash my hair every three or four day. I've found that it's good deal for my head. Also, I don't use conditionner
Good bye, and welcome !

You will need to find what works best for your own hair but be aware that if you keep growing it longer you may notice that it's needs and how it responds to routines and products can change.
There is nothing wrong with washing every day, though using a light conditioner (or creme rinse) when you do is a good idea because it not only lightly cleans but also may help your hair to be more manageable.
It also depends on how dirty your hair tends to get. More dirt...clean more often (but that part is up to you).
