What's everyone take, and has anyone actually found something that makes hair grow faster?
Every morning, I currently take...
-A multivitamin
-Two calcium tables
-A choline/inositol tablet
-Two Ultra Nourishair Pills (Contain Biotion, MSM, and Niacin)
I took a very thorough college nutrition course a while back, and the things I've learned I've applied to my hair growth. Here is what I know, to the best of my understanding.
Everyone has a predetermined growth rate for hair (averaging 1/2 inch per month), based on genetic factors. This growth rate is at its maximum when healthy, and lower when physically or mentally unhealthy. Regardless, hair continues to grow.
Any vitamin, whether for hair growth or not, has a maximum amount that your body can absorb per day. The rest is simply excreted through bodily functions. However, this is NOT the % daily value - the % daily value of a vitamin is the minimum amount needed to protect the body from disease - you can absorb quite a bit more than that, which is why I take the aforementioned vitamins, to make sure I get ALL I can, in case I don't get it from my diet.
Since my chop, my hair has grown a slightly over two inches in 3.5 months. Luckily, I was blessed with good hair genes - I usually get a minimum of a half inch per month and up to 3/4 of an inch, depending on my diet and exercise habits.
I added the nourishair and choline/inositol after the traumatic experience, but can't really tell if it's helping due to the relatively quick natural growth rate of my hair (it certainly isn't hurting though, so I don't plan to stop taking them).
I'm just wondering though, if anyone has started taking something and saw a marginal difference in their hair growth? And even if not, what kind of vitamins do you guys take?
