The kilt picture was nice, but doesn't really show all my hair. Here's a better one, that shows my hair more. I noticed after the picture was taken, that it has either been growing out unevenly, or a trim from a long time ago was uneven.
Steven--
Your hair looks fantastic. Do you do anything special to keep it in such great condition, or were you just born with such great looking hair?
I outlined my shampooing / cleaning procedures. That's bout all I really do to it, other than coming it in the mornings and evenings. I usually don't leave it tied back at night, but do tie it back at work.
this picture was taken after about 5 days of not washing it, and just simply combing it out
Dude.... You do have some gorgeous hair!!! Mine is about the same length. Keep it growing and beautiful!!!

Hope I NEVER have to resort to digitally enhanced hair! :-)
GREAT HAIR! :-) I've sometimes wished mine was that straight. The more it grows though, the more I'm diggin my curls. Finally figured out that it wasn't worth fighting! :-)
Check to make sure you are not sitting with your legs crossed when you get your hair trimmed.
When getting your hair trimmed, depending on length... (Stand if it's past the middle of your back.) Sit straight up, do not cross legs, hands in lap. Do not hold anything in hands. Keep your head in the position your hairdresser tells you to, and hold still.
If you have thick hair: if your hair dresser is just cutting your hair in one cut straight across...FIND A NEW HAIRDRESSER! Your hair should be clean, piled on top of your head, and a small, thin section of hair let down at one time, then trimmed. Then let down another small thin section of hair be combed down over what has just been trimmed and trim the new section only (not touching/recutting the section previously cut). Your hair will lay best this way once it is styled.
Extra tips: Don't get a haircut on a day you are stressed, your scalp tightens, once you are relaxed you will find that the cut will not be even.
Also make sure the hairdresser uses sharp scissors. You will tend to get split ends quicker if dull scissors are used. Also sharp scissors, also result in more managable hair. Scissors should go through the hair like soft butter, they should not pull the hair when cutting.
I usually ask to sit and watch a hairdresser cut a few heads of hair before they ever get to touch mine. ...mines past my waist.
Good luck. I know for me going to the hairdresser is worse than a trip to the denist, and I'm a hairdresser.
