I was googling around and found a recipe for leave in conditioner that is just 2 parts water to 1 part regular conditioner for dry/brittle hair types or 3 parts water to 1 part conditioner for normal hair. Just put the solution in a spray bottle, spray it in your hair, wash it out at night. Is this ok for the health of your hair to use and is it the same thing as the leave in conditioner you would buy?

Hello, Marty.
My hair gets dry easily and can handle it, so I sometimes use pretty much the same thing as a pre-gel base. Sometimes I just put the same amount of conditioner that I would put gel into my hair after I get out of a shower when my hair is wet already and just leave it in. Then I usually put some gel overtop the outer layer to help with fly-aways which, for a curly head, looks like poofiness. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, supple and I see no problem with it.

I make my own leave in with conditioner, and sometimes I leave straight conditioner in my hair, depending on my frizz level that day. As long as the conditioner doesn't have any sulfates (which you would think, as a conditioner, they wouldn't, but some do) it should be fine.
How would you know if a conditioner has sulfates? I imagine there are different kinds with different names.
