Hi again!
(For those who missed my last thread: had been growing for 3 years, got sick and tired of it (lots and lots of reasons why), decided to cut it. Actually I was supposed to cut it January 1st, but I decided I'd go see Korn first because short hair = no fun at metal concerts :D)
Some of you said I'd regret it and I did at first. It felt like someone just chopped off my arm. I couldn't recognize myself in the mirror, it was like a looking at a whole other person. Although I felt I looked more attractive with my new hair, I still wanted to turn back time and look the way I used to.
I gained a whole lot of confidence the next day at school though. I got compliments from everybody and all the girls said how much more handsome I look, that was definitely an ego boost. By now I'm happy with my new hair, look and feel more attractive and have become a more confident, sociable person.
BUT HERE COMES THE TWIST!
I decided I'll grow it long again. NOT as long as it used to be (it was down to my nipples). I'm thinking something a little longer than chin-length. So here's my question:
How long does it take to get from this:

To this?:

I think that hairstyle reflects my fun-loving, laid back personality while making me individuate from the gray mass. And I don't think girls will find it repulsive, seeing as it has been sported by such sex icons as Johnny Depp and Brat Pitt (I couldn't find any pictures of men with it that didn't look messy/greasy, I want mine to look as clean and straight as on that pic).
So will 3 months do? I have a cunning plan of growing it out over the summer.
Unless your hair grows alot faster than the average (1/2 inch per month), three months won't do it. 6-9 months minimum, 12 months most likely.

The first to the second? I have what most people would say is freakishly quick growing hair and it took me a year to transition between those two lengths. If you have hair like the first picture, it'll look virtually the same in 3 months but a little shaggier.
Hair only grows about a half of an inch each month, so in a year the average hair growth is about 6 inches. I'd say it'd take about a year to accomplish that length, unless your hair grows insanely fast.
Good pics to use as before and afters...
But yeah, like everyone else said, 3 months is a bit over-optimistic :P. You're probably looking at between 6 months and a year, unfortunately. Don't worry, it will pass soon enough! Good luck..
Yeah... 3 months probably is a bit over-optimistic though my hair grows ridiculously fast. Eeeh we'll see how it goes.
