i washed my hair shampooed and then conditioned it this morning and put a shower cap on and left the condtioner on without washting it out and going to wash it the next day will it hurt any to do that just wondering?
I'm not sure. I know there are leave-in conditioners that are designed for such a use, but I would think that using a standard conditioner could be bad. Conditioner has soap in it, and it might make your hair brittle.
It won't hurt your hair, though it might result in a little more build-up than you'd like. Depending on how it's been formulated, your hair may look and feel dull if you leave it on all day. But it can make a good hair pomade in an emergency if you don't have any at hand.
Never heard of anyone else doing this before so will just have to guess:
Probably won't hurt.........but you most likely will have a build-up left over and a Clarifying Shampoo will be needed to get the build-up all off of your hair. My best guess.
I actually do this alot, and for more than 24 hours but I comb my hair so some comes out obviously...no ill effects yet only positive.

Leave in conditioners are formulated differently than standard conditioner that you rinse out hence the designation "leave in".
I would not recommend doing that with regular conditioner and Justin is correct you will need a clarifying shampoo to get the build up out.

I find that if don't wash every bit of conditioner out my hair feels like straw. You should keep the conditioner on for like only 2 or 3 minutes at the most and then wash it out.
You know the answer in your particular case, but if the conditioner is not heavy with -cones, there should be little to no problem.
I typically use my Nature's Gate as a leave in to deep condition.
I do make sure I get it all out in the rinse.
