Pat, Guys and gals,
I just checked Pat's post about his great long hair (very nice indeed), and I got a question about it. It seems to grow quite straight at the beginning but then it gets wavy, my question is: is the waviness related to the use of ponytail's bands or is it a normal waviness.
I ask that because when I let my hair loose I can feel two waves (pretty much like yours Pat), but they are exactly in the two places I use a band (for half tail and ponytail). If I grab the hair and put a band on it it fits perfectly on the wave, like the band's pressure is shaping the hair.
Any comments?.
Thx.

Those are braid waves. Pat braids his hair (check his avatar), and when he takes it out, the resulting effect is those waves you see. I braid mine nightly, to contain it for sleeping, and I get those same waves the next day. I have some natural wave, so mine eventually work themselves into loose soft spirals. Look up some old pics of Victorian ladies on Google, many show them with their hair down with braid waves. Victorian women braided their hair at night. The Sutherland Sister's were a famous group of extremely long-haired woman with braid waves. Pictures of them are available on the net.

As Carol says, it's braid waves. Here's how it looks without them. This picture is from June '05, so it's longer now, of course.
Braid waves rock!!! And they certainly do make your hair look fuller.
