I always have to comb my hair whenever I get out of the shower, because when I don't, my hair manages to get frizzy and gets tangled at the back. Is it okay to continue combing (not brushing) wet hair?
Also, how long does it take for your hair to fully dry? It takes me over 2 hours and my hair is still in the awkward stage. Bangs are 7 inches, sides 4 inches (due to trimming) and back is like 7.5-8.0 inches so I can't see why it has to take 2 hours. If there's one thing better about shorter hair than long hair is that it usually dries up in 5-10 mins. Maybe even less. :p
My hair is pretty much at the same length as yours, maybe a bit longer on the sides. It takes a good hour and a half to two hours for it to really dry completely, and if I don't comb it with a wide tooth comb after I'm done washing it, it could take far longer to dry.
As long as you don't end up ripping through hairs or combing it too vigorously, I don't think there's any problem with combing it when wet. Curly hair can only really be combed properly when wet most of the time anyway.

Ryan
Yes, this is my experience as well...
Of course you must comb your hair after you wash it. Put in a good detangler prior to combing it while wet and it will make the process much easier. I love my Madora comb (made for long hair). It just glides through hair.
I finger comb under flowing water and then comb with a wide tooth and theres almost no resistance. I need to comb or it dries awkwardly. My hair takes rougly 3-4 hours to dry fully but its relatively thick.

I have weird hair so it take forever to dry, if i hair dry it can take up to 4 hours in winter so i multi-tail it and sleep with my hair wet so it's nearly dry in the morning.
I know it's bad but i have to comb my hair gently when its wet and full of conditioner or my hair will be very fizzy and full of knot, i also comb it before tieing it.

i been growing my hair for over 10 months now and it takes about 2-3 hours to fully dry and i do comb my hair while its wet but i put a cap on for an hour then i take it off comb it again and let it dry like that its works for me pretty good
I ALWAYS comb my hair while wet and in the shower. For me, this is the only way to detangle it and properly comb it. Of course, my hair happens to be curly, so I wouldn't know if it's the norm for those with straight hair. As long as you're gentle with it, I don't see why any damage should occur.
I use a pick on my damp hair, after towel drying for about 5 minutes. My head would be one big frizz-ball otherwise.
In our FAQ Rules section it does say pic a handle and stick to it.
You may want to do that from here on out, so we'll assume you'll stick with Emagdne.
