i found a higher dosage of Biotin at the store yesterday its called "Super Potency Biotin" has 4x the strength of regular biotin pills hopefully itll work alot faster and make my hair grow super fast! its 5,000 mcg aka 1,667% and the one before i was taking was only 1,000 mcg aka 333% so wish me good luck and just started taking biotin a week ago!
Taking a lot of suplement isn't good... you should take the right amount of suplement, don't play with your body.
Anyway there is no way to make your hair grow faster but you can grow it more healthy.

I agree completely. Just be patient; your hair will grow on its own.
And I agree as well. Too many suplements and way overdone can proove to be toxic to the human body.
...balance is so important. Don't take it the wrong way, supplements can be beneficial, but more is not necessarily better.
Bruce
so 1,000 mcg is safer to take then eh?
NO rush man, just let your hair do its thing.

Mark,
As far as I know, Biotin its good for hair and finger health, it won't make your hair "grow faster", you cant fight genetics on that. Take the supplement as instructed on the bottle/box and wait.
I have been taking Biotin for 4 months now, My hair is not growing faster, but I can feel it healthy on the scalp (taking biotin wont do anything for hair already growth).
And do not go for the max dosage of biotin, thinking that 5000mcg will be better than 1000 mcg it's lke thinking that taking the whole bottle/box will make you reach terminal length overnight, that doesn't work that way, does it? ;)
Good luck Mark with the vitamins and I'm sure hair will take it's natural course and grow out.
Cheers,
John.B
Be aware that all B-complex vitamins are water soluble. The body doesn't store excess, instead, the surplus leaves your body via urine. You'd be truly pissing your money away.
It's more to the point to eat your veggies, drink milk (if you aren't lactose intolerant), snack on nuts, and have an egg every now and then (needs to be whole eggs, the yolk has the biotin).
Unfortunately, MarkS, biotin supplements probably accomplish nothing for the vast majority of the human race. As you have noticed, the internet is filled with hundreds of ads selling biotin for hair growth or to combat hair loss. Want to guess what proof there is to back up their claims? I personally searched the international scientific literature on biotin use and hair growth in humans. There were 800 articles posted. Not a single one shows any benefit of biotin supplements to otherwise healthy people who are not deficient in biotin. People who are truly biotin deficient are rare, and their hair loss may extend to their eyelashes and eyebrows, too. Obviously, this does not describe most people who wish to maximize hair growth on their heads. The poster who mentioned you are losing most of the vitamin through your urine is absolutely correct. I hear people talk about biotin supplements as "beneficial" but the benefit is more psychological than anything...and it makes the companies who sell it very, very rich.
BTW, I'm an M.D., (for what it's worth). Not wanting to burst your (or anyone else's) bubble by any means, but you'd be better off saving your money, in my humble opinion.
