I just got over the flu. I was REALLY sick for about a week. It's good to be getting back to feeling normal again.
I was wondering if I should be expecting a lot of hair loss over the next few days/weeks. It hasn't happened yet, but I was just curious. Maybe I'm getting worried over nothing...
Any input would be appreciated.
Some months ago i got something like a flu during a week and i didn't get any hair loss :)
as far as i know, only chemotherapy causes hair loss.
As long as you were able to keep up some reasonable nutrition, you should be fine. Many years ago, I had surgery and a week-long hospital stay and recovery. I didn't keep up with washing and brushing my hair, so when I finally did brush it, I had 7 times the usual amount of shed hairs in my brush. I freaked, until I realized that it was just what I would have had spread out over a week.
If you jsut had the flu for a week, you are probably in the clear. Usually things that cause hairloss are such as starvation, anorexia, extreme nutrient deficiencies, chronic illnesses, chemically-based cancer treatments, radiation poisoning, etc. I'm willing to bet you experienced none of these things last week.
Thanks for all the responses. I guess I have nothing to worry about.
