Im new here, this is my first post, and let me say this is quite a fun site, i like it a lot when people post their progress, it motivates me. Well, im 17 and i want long hair, i had my hair kind of long 1 month ago but the cut was really bad, so i went to a salon, got it permanently straighten and cut it but the stupid guy who cut my hair cut it a bit short and let me say, real ugly, so im kind of frustrated. Now i have normal guy hair. Since i cant make it grow any faster i figured the best way for me to grow long hair is NOT THINK ABOUT IT because if i do, everyday ill see how slow it grows, but if i remember to think about it 3 months later itll be longer. What do you think people? i want advice from people with already long hair, is it hard, the waiting?
Welcome to the community.
I, too, find that the constant measuring makes it seem like my hair isn't going anywhere. A watched pot never boils, and measured hair never grows. It's more fun to "pretend" that I'm at terminal, then suddenly I realize it's a bit longer. Don't cut, don't trim unless you have a REAL damage issue. Find another obsession to think about for a few months. Then, before you know it, you've reached another milestone.
