Hi there,
Well yum yum and there you have an englsih pancake and with lemon and sugar. After 5 I'm rather stuffed but so lovely to eat. I wasn't feeling that energetic to go and join in a pancake race as we have over here.
Cheers,
John.B
Those look rather like Swedish pancakes, but I guess they're not! They're English. Our two countries are really separated by a common language I guess. The whole "pancake" deal is contentious. Russian pancakes, French crepes, Swedish pankakkar, American style pancakes, potato pancakes, chocolate, blueberry, banana -- who can keep it all straight!?
What's the recipe for English crepes? In cups and teaspoons/tablespoons please as I don't do metric ;-)
Hi Matt,
Well I'm sure it all means the same in a universal language and it just involves eggs, flour and water.
Sure thing I'll send you the recipe via e-mail.
Cheers,
John.B
Water? I use milk. That probably makes them Finnish pancakes... (pannukakku)
Kuitos
Looks damn good!!!
Thank you and not everyone likes the crepe style pancake and makes a nice change to what you normally get over in North America.
Cheers,
John.B
It looks burnt
Antonio, in John B's photo, you'll be happy to know that the pancake or "english Crepe" is not burnt. That is the way the crepe is supposed to be (I know because I was a chef and also taught cooking classes for 11 years). The darker marks on the crepe are what help give it the delicious slightly caramelized flavor.
The only problem with John B's crepe is that we were not treated to a photo of his glorious hair. How about an update, John B ?
Happy Crepes! Johnnie
FINE, geez, i dont even know how to make cereal right dont blame me :S
How about taking some cookery lessons! I hear Delia Smith is quite good!
Cheers,
John.B
Didn't Delia do a show on breakfast cereal once?
Gourmet Frosties?
LOL
Kevin
I think it may have been a boiled egg?
Yeah, John, don't you shed in your food like the rest of us?!
