My hair is shoulder length and is cut bluntly.
I am brunette and grey and recently hair low lites.
My tresses are smooth, silky and straight today following yesterdays hair appointment.
My hair is done in a girls style.
Most here love long hair and thats it. I like my hair long so that i can look like a girl.
I am mistaken for a girl a few times a day. Do you find that you are mistaken for a girl, because of your hair?
Are any others here who like their hair long so they appear more feminine?
happend to me in school a few weeks ago, i was sitting in the front of a classroom, (the entrance door was at the back), some girls came in and i heard them say "whos she" then i turned round and they started giggling and run off lol and ime 6ft.2 and they still thought i was a girl, i kind of took it as a compliment that they thought my hair was nice enough to be a girls lmao.
Shelby, I am in the process of growing my hair out now. I have always admied long hair on women and the options they have to style it. I'm only 4 months in with a long way to go but I am also hoping to wear a more feminine style as it gets longer. I am not gay and I am happily married. I'm just tired of the same short male haircut I've had for 33 years of my life. Wish me luck!
I never understand how people can honestly be confused about someone's gender simply based on hair. There are a multitude of other things to consider when looking at a person, such as manner of walking, body language, body shape, height (not always), etc..
There's of course an exception to be made in the case of remarkably androgynous looking individuals, but it seems like most of the time these situations of "mistaken gender" occur with obviously masculine guys with longer than average hair.
Maybe I'm just too narrow minded to understand that some people really are so quick to make such assumptions about strangers. We'll see how it develops down the road.
Peace,
Ryan
i get mistaken for a girl all the time. ::giggles::
but seriously, there was one time that i was mistaken for a guy. that was a little... unnerving. i would be a hot guy, though. haha!
Ive never been mistaken for a girl (i think) but I know people have said that I have look like a girl due to my longhair. I dont care, as I get older I will look more masculine anyway
Thats what is different with me from most others here.
I like looking like a girl.
And when i wear my shoulder length hair in a girls style, i get so much enjoyment.
And their are many ways i can wear my hair.
I get it all the time, doent bother me but I dont understand how they can think that cause I'd be one horrible looking girl.
My hair is shoulder length and is cut bluntly.
i think that your hair is gorgeous
it looks so long
how long is your hair now?
thanks, its past my butt just shy of mid thigh length. im going to take about 6 inches off though to bring it back up to the small of my back.
I would love to chat with you about your hair.
It would mean so much to me.
I love long pretty hair and yours is gorgeous.
At yhaoo im i am shelby24_us

Hi Daedalus ,
Great length man . Why should you at all think of cutting your lovely mane . Even if you will have it upto your butt , comments will not stop , so why not have more longer lengths .
Better you have upto your knees . What will really be super long . So ps do not cut or even think of cutting .
You can always wear a bun when in public ,or keep your loose hair or braid inside your shirt
Can you post some of your pics with your hair length fully seen from top to the ends . That will be very nice
Thanks Ambrish
Most guys with long hair get mistaken for girls at times, but usually just from the back. It isn't a big deal to anyone who has had long hair for a while.
I think that there is at least one person here who is transgendered, who I think goes by the user name of Dawn (?). Im not sure if that was quite what you meant. Hopefully they will reply to this thread.
Yes, Dawn Ashley Beneton sometimes posts on MLHH. She is a pretty transsexual with really nice hair, and did have her own web page. Schala was a young Canadian transsexual who used to be a member, but she has dropped off. She had waist length hair.
Another young blonde guy whose name I forget liked his hair styled in fem ways. He posted on the Gay Longhair hyperboard last year, but he has disappeared.
I am new here but would love to chat with you about hair.
My e-mail is shelby24_us@yahoo.com

Thank you for the nice compliment. I removed my website because it seemed to attract the wrong visitors and some of the emails were not respectable.
I had let my hair grow to almost waist length but then we were visited by a hurricane named "Charly" and life got a little difficult with no power for 21 days and the florida heat and humidity took its toll and I cut my hair. Yes it was a good idea at the time but I was not happy so for the last two years I have let it grow out again. I will post a recent picture soon.
Again thanks for the nice compliment.
You're hair was almost waistlength? I didn't know that.
Would love to see the current length/style since it's been growing again.
Yes, Dawn, it would be great to see a pic of that length and your current style as Mick suggests. And do please accept teh compliment. It's a challenge enough for a transsexual esp with the gross abuse by so-called 'admirers'.
And Selby, how about a photo of yourself with a fem hairstyle?
Ummm not sure how to respond, but I do read the board. I am Transgendered yes so I trust I appear feminine. I do live as a female but in no way deceive anyone. I think that, we are all individuals and how ever you project yourself thats awesome as long as its how you feel it suits you. Just be yourself, life is far more enjoyable.
I have always had long hair since childhood and yes it is a part of my personae. But it is my preference and I have always followed my feelings.
Dawn
Hello Dawn. I hope I didn't make you feel awkward by mentioning you in that way. I must admit I'm not sure what I thought you would say to Shelby either. You are right, though. It's best for people to be themselves.
Alun
No offense taken Alun, I know the site is really for guys, so I just read mostly and comment rarely. I have gotton some good information and at times offered some encouragement.
Its a terrific site for exchanging information and ideas.I see other woman belonging to the site so I will keep popping in from time to time.
Dawn
I think it's supposed to be for guy's hair. I don't think the gender of the users is specified, so it's not even an issue.
Alun
I wear my hair in many way which appear "fem" I prefer the term andgrogeous as my inspiration is from many of the 80's rockers, although I seem to be finding myself crosssing over into the "cross-dressing" areas. I love to wear my hair down, with big bangs and when I do wear it up I use colorful scrungie ties and clips. I also wear rather fem hoop and dangle earrings with my hair down. Plus I usually wear girl jeans :-)
If people think I am girl its ok with me, or whatever they want to think, its just me.
It used to happen to me every once in a while, mostly from the back. One of the reasons I grew out my beard was to make myself more immediately discernable as a man. I mostly feel embarrassed for the people who make the mistake, I don't really mind it that much.
due to having a substantial beard, but my hair is super long. It reaches the tops of my knees.
Scott
I get way more attention from the ladies than any of those macho jerks.
*waves hand*
The original reason behind my growing out my hair was to appear more androgynous. The ship hasn't completely past, but now I just want long hair. xD
I am older. I am growing my hair long for the first time in my life, although I have worn it moderately shaggy in the past. Now it is shoulder length.
I had my back to a female clerk in a C-store and she said "Can I help you, Ma'am?"
Surprisingly, this concept intrigued me. I wouldn't mind looking androgynous!
Blonde with reddish highlights, ponytail, just past the awkward stage.
