i got a straigh perm and i hate my straight hair, i thought it was going to be nicer but it wasnt its flat and ugly and now i have a month old roots and i want to buzz cut my hair real short, i have it like 10 months long. What do you think?
Don't cut it. You'll regret it. I don't know the deal with perms, but I thought that they weren't truly permanent, and they undo themselves after a few weeks/months? If not, you could always get a perm making it curly again, at least it would allow you to keep your hair. It's better than cutting it off, absolutely.
Make sure to use the two week rule to decide whether to chop it off. Think about it deeply for two weeks, and if you ever have second thoughts, don't do it. If you make any rash decisions, and cut it off on a whim, you will certainly regret it.
Long hair for the win!
Hi Antonio,
Chemically altering your hair from whatever Mama Nature gifted you with always has a big risk factor. Time and time again those of us that have been here awhile have read many a tale of woe about this topic... Curly-haired guys want to straighten their hair; straight-haired giuys want a body wave or curls... Blondes want to be brunettes and brunettes want to be blondes, --- it's just human nature to not be happy with ourselves with however we popped out of the womb!
The more you try to chemically change this or that, the more you'll weaken and eventually ruin your hair's natural strength and texture, --- and the tougher it will become to grow it out really looooooooong (if that is what you eventually want to do).
I never like to "tell" people what to do; but, my bet is that cutting it now, in order to start over again in the right way, will probably be your eventual decision... JUST DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE!!
Good luck!

PS - Although I've never permed, colored, or straightened my own hair (other than trying hair color on my beard), I did do a dumb thing in Y2K: I cut off my waist-length hair to short, --- so, I speak from experience about having done dumb things myself (lol)!!
I second that!
I found out that this is a sudden urge to change ourselves...I had that urge last week too, but my hennaed hair did not let me change my hair. Now i'm very happy to remain natural :)
you can post some pics, so we'll see how bad it looks.
remember, hair takes two minutes to cut but many years to grow :)
.
Why not post a pic for us to see and we'll give some advice.
Yes or no!
Cheers,
