I noticed all you guys with long hair i noticed you guys hair are soft looking.. how do you achieve this?
Is it just washing or you put something else in it?
oh i also noticed that some of you guys have smooth looking ends.. and my ends are kind of crunchy feeling.. is there anyway i can make them look smoother ..
Thanks,
SwordHopper
Well, if your ends are crunchy that means they're damaged beyonf repair. The only way to fix that is to cut them off, then not use damaging hair tools like straighteners or blowdriers without heat-protecting cream.
And for the softness, it's how we take care of our hair. Longhair isn't like shorthair where you can do anything you want to it. You hav eto take care of it because it has to last a while, years even!
To have soft hair, you should...
-Use conditioner. A lot of it.
-Shower with cold water.
-Don't use a lot of shampoo. Keep it to a minimum.
-Have a healthy diet. Lots of vitamin B and A make healthy hair!
Well said. Lots of conditioner, and ofcourse taking care of it, and a healthy diet does help alot too.
Thanks Bill ... you think if the more conditioner i put
the less puffy my hair would make?
and p.s. thanks for it.. i put so much shampoo its not funny =/
You also need to let the conditioner soak in for a few minutes, and rinse it out with COLD water. And only have in the shampoo for a few seconds to maybe half a minute, depending on how oily your hair is.
And about the poofiness... That's from he hot water. Your hair has "scales", and heat opens them up which lets out all of the moisture. Cold water closes them, and keeps them closed so your hair stays hydrated and smooth.
Thanks alot man
I appreciate it :D
As with any hair question, your mileage may vary...what works for one will not work the same, or at all for another.
Treat it gently, avoid harsh treatments or rough handling.
In my case, just washing...rinsing, actually...I've been water only for a couple years, so except for unusual circumstances, the only thing in my hair is the natural oils, and as long as I stay on my wash routine, my hair stays consistently nice.
Damage like that can be covered to a certain extent by some conditioners, but the hair is still damaged...nothing actually fixes damaged hair.
Depending on how much is damaged and how badly, some trimming may help, and simply growing out healthy undamaged hair...that just requires patience.
Right now, my ends are pretty nice, but then, I've had the time and good light to do split end trimming...going through the hair and cutting splits one at a time...this isn't feasible til your hair is quite long though.
