I was reading some reviews on clarifying shampoos. Suave makes a daily clarifying shampoo that is cheap and can be used every 3-4 months....but will it damage your hair while stripping out buildup? Which clarifying shampoo is recommended for infrequent use?
Marty
I'm pretty sure anything with sodium laureth sulfate is a good clarifier. Lauryl and ammonium sulfates are too harsh apparently.
What brand should I look for?
Marty
Marty,
I've found a reeeeeeeally inexpensive, good, fragrant clarifying
shampoo: V-O-5's HERBAL ESCAPES line "Kiwi Lime Squeeze w/ Lemongrass Exract" . . . my hair's seemingly thicker, softer, and definitely easier ta brush. It should be available at all o/t big drug store chains. I found mine @ CVS as well as Family Values Drugs. They even have it on sale @ the Food Emporium here. Ya oughta be able ta find it everywhere. Happy shopping!
Yours for clarified, longhair'd camaraderie,
Quenyan
Ditto'd. Sorry I didn't give brands. D:
I was googling long hair care and found a page on Frederic Fekkai Clarifying Shampoo here:
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P7695&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=4221
It contains sodium laureth sulfate....does anybody know if this product is sold in any stores?
Marty
Well if you googled a bit further there are a couple of USA websites including Amazon! They also sell it here in the UK and let me know if you want some sent over.
Cheers,
John.B
yeah, I see it's on Amazon-that's an option. Ever see it in a store, though, or hear of this brand?
Marty
I use Suave Daily Clarifying (you don't use it daily however). cheap, does the job; leaves no residue and is widely available.
Marty, one clarifying shampoo that I really like Herbal Essence's. It really does the job, but it just doesn't seem as harsh as some others. Additionally, it's relatively inexpensive.
