Ok, this time, this is not mere bitching and moaning; I do realize that my hair is of so low quality and grows so slow I don't think it extended ever since Sep. last year. It was circa 25 cm then, and it's pretty much the same now... According to my views, it seems to be even shorter though I didn't trim it (!?)
It snaps every so often I detangle it, the ponytail remained small and laughable (don't know whether it's because of curles or whatever- it's just still short as it was 5 months ago). I was thinking of trimming, but then- I remember I'll just deteriorate the already hopeless process of growing really long, which is my aim.
The layer from the top of my head reaches slightly over ears and the lowest layer touches shoulders- and that's status quo with no moving farther.
I really wanted to have long hair, but nature disappointed me, I tried so much, and hoped, and what I got is nothing but a hay-like, dry shrub of hair which only causes burden and problems. So, while the idea of having a damn-good haircut rightfully comes in handy, I still nurse a track of hope it will start growing soon and despite all, I know I would regret cutting that sweet bastard.
I wanted to hear your suggestion: what would you advise, and what would you do in my place?
It sounds like you need moisture and maybe some protein. D:
You probably need some better conditioner and a leave in. I use VO5 stuff which is really cheap and incredibly good, and I make a leave in from it. Look for any of the VO5 moisture milks conditioners (they're usually about 99 cents at a CVS), and use that on your hair and try washing once a week or less. Just condition it for a while then use shampoo not as often, and use very, VERY little.
After that, you can try adding protein to the hair. Washing with an egg rinse will really help, or leaving an egg in your hair for a while and covering it with saran wrap. It will keep it from breaking.
I hope this helps.
I know to some I may sound like an old broken record but, You are what you eat! Make sure you are eating a good nutritious, balance diet, supplements if needed (not in excess), drink plenty of water (not soda) You should see some improvement in 2 or 3 months. If not, seek the advice of an physician (you should do that anyway)
Hope this helps

breakage?
maybe split ends...
both can be the reason.
if your hair is curly, maybe you don't see the improvement (hair grows about 1 cm a month)
More like a half inch a month. O_O
