been curious as to how you'd look with a nice short cut? This is not a post about me being tempted to cut as I am not I'm just wondering if anyone else from time to time thinks about getting a cut to try out shorter or layered or even buzzed styles. I've almost forgotten how I look without a good couple of inches of hair on my head as its been over a decade since my hair has been shorter than that length. It would be absolutely amazing to be able to experiment with short hair without losing what you already have.
Anyways I'm just sick of the threads here being updates or people apologizing for cutting their hair. It'd be nice to have a nice "thread if you will" about some peoples opinions. Just thought I'd share a thought ahha.
On a side note I think that if I did cut back my hair I'd look odd as my neck has either gotten thicker over the past year and a half or I'm being delusional. Anyone feel that any new gained characteristic or feature (that you never noticed before) would make having short hair again look odd?

It hasn't been all that long (5 yrs.)since I used to get my hair cut pretty short periodically. And to be honest, it didn't look too bad. I never hated having short hair when I had it, but finally decided to grow it a few years back. Why, just because I had wanted to try it long again. When I was about twenty I grew some good length and then cut it. I don't know why really. While I am not going to cut my hair, I do wonder what a shorter style might look like sometimes. I wonder if I can even be objective anyway. I've concentrated so long on having long hair that I probably wouldn't beleive anyone who told me short would look better. But then what is better anyway? Then depending on who you ask, no telling what they'd say. At the end of the day though, I guess I keep growing it just because I like it and think it looks best for me. But, I do have to admit I question myself sometimes. I don't hate short hair now, but I don't really think I'd be happy with it after all that's gone on with me getting to long.
I like this thread you've started just because it made me think a little. As much as I love long hair, I do see some really sharp looking short hair cuts. But, then the same haircut on me wouldn't look anything nearly the same as it does on some younger, better looking guy. HAHA! So while I do wonder what I might look like with a short hair cut, I guess I just picture it in my mind, shudder at the thought, and turn my mind back to whatever subject I'm working on.
What I really wondered about was a few weeks ago my scalp was really icky and I thought for a few seconds how nice it might be just to shave it slick and be able to have a clean feeling scalp. But then I remembered once when I actually did have a clean shaven head. I didn't like it at all. Wow, I'm all over the page tonight! Sorry.
Isn't a thick neck a good thing? I guess all those exercises you've been doing have payed off. Anyhow, your hair looks great these days, and while it might be cool to try different stuff with it, just use your imagination and keep on growing.
We do seem to have had a dearth of "discuss amongst yourselves" threads lately?
Let's brainstorm topics for controversial material to see whose ire we can rankle!

Actually, I looked quite handsome with a neat, short cut, however, I never did like short hair. I guess I just reached a point in my life where I wanted to start being me and not what everyone else wanted me to be.
BTW, your neck is getting thicker due to an increase in testosterone. You are beginning to masculinize to a greater extent. That is why a bull (for example) has a much thicker neck than a cow.

this is me when i had short hair (i was sad deep down inside) this is when i got my hair cut when i had long hair before and cut it all off for my ex big mistake!
Your long hair is superb Jeffrey, but you know you also look very cool with short - which I guess is nice to know - just in case you ever want to / need to get rid of it.

My wife will, from time to time, suggest that I should "try" a short haircut "just one time" to see how I like it. I'm 52 years old!! I think it's been done, thank you! Besides, I don't disagree that I look good with short hair... I just feel better with long hair!

It has been a long time since my hair was short, but here is how it looked. I have had long hair for a very long time. The photo is from July 1987.

Yes it is Dave. When I grew out my hair I never cut it off but just let it vanish into the surrounding growing hair.

Judging from your pictures, I think if you ever did decide to cut it you wouldn't look bad. Just saying.
I don't want SHORT hair, but if I could experiment, I'd try relaxed hair with a v-kei layering in a heartbeat. xD As long as I can go right back.
Yeah, a week ago I found a picture of me with a side part and hair down to my eyebrow. And the beard! That pic looked really good, so I got the same feeling. I don´t want to cut my hair, but it would be great to be able to try short styles.

Sometimes, I wonder about how I would look if... Like you, I almost totally formot how I looked before. And, since I've grown my hair during the period of my life which means "big changes" in physical apparence (i.e, between 15 and 20, I'm 19), no way to recognize me in old photos :)

After passing through years of "awkward stage", when I was dissatisfied with my hair but never decided to grow it long, I finally found my way and I wouldn't go back.
So no, I'm not curious about my short-haired look, I just feel like I'm a long hair and it's so natural and righteous to me...

Personally I think I look terrible with short hair
I have a round body and a round face. My hair is straight, so "cute" short cuts cling to my head, I look like a small round ball on a big round ball. I also get this effect when my hair is pulled back. If I DO put my hair up for something where I want to make an impression, the bun has to go on top of my head.
