I've heard so many good things about them like how they are gentler on hair and do not rip as much out like traditional brushes.
I'm thinking of getting one but i want to know everyone else experience while trying them, just to make sure its well worth purchasing one. They almost look like they'd be harder on your hair but i guess I would have to try it to understand.

I've had one for a month now, I love it. I totally recomend it!
Thanks for the tip! Judging by your hair it is really working for you :)
Definitely go for it! Boar Bristle brushes are excellent, and I would highly recommend you to invest in one. A decent one will only run for a few dollars.
Thanks Brandon. Yeah I am certain that it's probably worth spending a few bucks :)
Miller.
I just brought my first one and it feels so gentle on my hair.
Go for it!
Bruce
Thanks for the reply Bruce. I will definitely invest in one if they are in fact gentler like you mentioned
Thanks for the advice!
Miller.
Hi Miller! I've been using a boar bristle brush for quite a long time, and I can't say enough good things about it. It polishes the hair nicely and helps to evenly distribute the oils in your hair.
It's really important to realize however, that it is not meant to be used to detangle your hair. You need to use it after you've already detangled your hair with a wide toothed comb.
Go for it, you'll love it.

Yes, that's how I'm useing it!

Thanks for the info FrannyG! I guess i will invest in a wider toothed comb as well, with the two together i guess i can't go wrong :)
Thanks again!

Hey Miller, here's my famous boar's bristles brush pic from a while ago originally post'd for Kal-El. ("Somebody saaaaaaaave meeeeeeee!") I'm a big fan of boars bristles brushes. I'm also a big fan of Mane 'n Tail conditioner.
REMEMBER: never brush your hair when it's wet, it'll break (or damage), detangle manually first, start at the ends first, and slowly work yourself to the roots, sweeping back in long strokes to get the natural oils going.

Quenyan

Thanks for the reply Quenyan. By the way how does that mane and tail stuff work? Ive heard alot about it but ive never tried it.
Run, don't walk, to the store and get one right now!!! They're the best!!!
Lol i guess I'd better run to the nearest store soon then, everyone is saying the exact same thing about them, and no one has anything bad to say about them.
Thanks for the reply Randy!

Would boar bristle brush work well with thick and curly hair? All brushes have done for me is to make my hair stand up on ends in a frizzy poofy afro.
Are there particular brush shapes which are better suited for my hair type?
Thanks!
Err, sorry didn't mean to sound like I was asking you specifically, I meant it to be aimed to all of people who's replied to you with their excellent advice.
Alex
Thats ok, actually thanks to the responses I have received i know a lot more about boar bristle brushes. The trouble with your "poofiness" may be because your hair is too dry, and boar bristle brushes will definitely help with distributing the natural oils etc, however your hair should be fully de-tangled before you use one.
Hope this helped

I have one, seems t make my hair grow faster without breaking it.. you can find them sometimes at BigLots for only $2.
I also suggest using shampoo and conditioners "without" parabens and laural sulfate..
I use Straight Arrow Mane and Tail deep moisturing shampoo and .
