Hello evryone,
Lately Ive been hating on my hair a bit. I kinda miss my old Semi-long hairdo. It looked cleaner and was way less trouble to deal with.
But I know if I cut my hair now, il regret and wonder how it would be fully grown.
But now my hair just looks messy the dam wings at the end annoys me to death. They alway get in my face and I cant do **** about it. Also my bangs is not even with the back and that give a kind of mullet feel.
I would realy like to see how my hair would look longer, but now U just feel like cuting them off. I wont, not now. But if that feeling hangs on il do it.
Hey man, I have been there and trust me, give it time. Never lose sight of your goals. Hang in there!
Hi Charles,
The good news is, considering your photo, your hair is in really good shape, and really quite nearly out of the awkward stage.
And, the bad news is, once your hair is long, messy come with the deal. I didn't know this when I first grew out my hair, but it is true. When you go from short hair (which is always "controllable") to longhair, you have to switch to a new mindset. That includes:
1) your hair will do unpredictable things on almost any day
2) 99% of the time you are the only one who will think it looks messy.
For example, you are concerned about the "flips" in your hair. No one else sees that as a problem. Most longhaired guys understand that the longer hair gets, even very straight hair, the more likely it is to take some curves here and there.
Try looking at the pic you sent as if it were someone else. Looks pretty damn good! So, relax. Enjoy your long hair!
Bob
Dude, you're almost there - out of the awkward stage! You've got great, healthy hair that will only look better longer IMO.
As far as neatness, once all your hair will reach a tie, you'll always have that option and it can make your hair very controllable and neat. My suggestion would be to at least wait until this stage since you're so close. If you're not happy, you can always cut back then.
Hey Charles, I wished my hair was more like yours. I'm learning that we are a lot harder on ourself as far as looks go than the way others see us. Man I've got Ladies at my local Church that compliments my hair all the time, but from my eyes I don't know why. Go figure.
I look at growing my hair as an adventure, in another year or two I'll re-evaluate, maybe you can do the same.
Frank
Hair of your present length seems to be a bit of a fad where I live........flips and all. Just hang in there and all will work its way out into great long hair all by itself. All of us went through the same stage to get to where we are.
And you have the best hair type to work with and such superb colour.
I remember when my hair was like that, mind you I never actually had too big a problem with my wings (I didn't mind them). Give it time and they will eventually disappear.
Your hair looks a lot like mine did a few years back. I really liked that hair colour, but as mine grew it started getting darker.
Hi Charles,
Your hair looks great in your photo, and it appears haelthy with lots of shine. You have generally straight hair, and the flips on the end are simply part of the awkward phase, and as your hair gets longer and has more weight, the flips should gradually disappear. Things can only get easier from now on.
Keep it growing,
David
I know it sucks right now but you have a handsome face and good
hair. Your meant for long hair and it will look stunning but
you'll never know if you cave in and you've come so far already.
Deep down you know you'll feel ten times worse if you cut it now.
Hang in there, please! We want to see what you look like with really long hair too.
Kevin
Well thanks to all of you guyz! Il guess il just have to wait and see!
I'm glad your staying along for the ride as you doing great so far and you almost out the horrible bit and your hair is looking really great. Hang in there mate and we are here to help and encourage.
Cheers,
John.B
Charles, when I looked at your photo, I honestly thought how good your hair is looking. It seems to be in excellent health, and what you see as annoying wings looks perfectly normal to me.
You're just a few months away from really seeing what long hair is like on you. I'm quite sure you'll like it. Don't give up yet!

Hi Charles..
IMO ... I think your hair is doing well. Its always hard at that stage; but I can promise you; in 4 more months you'll wonder why you ever thought about cutting it.. just put a bandana on it to keep it back if it bothers you too much right now..
I had a permanent bandana attatched to my noggin for a good 6 months and now I rarely have to wear one anymore.. trust me..
Take care and good luck..
Tristan
I say keep it growin'!
I think it looks good. The hair in the face thing is going to happen...but I think as it gets longer it will improve for you. I say give it a whirl. You won't regret growing it...just cutting it!
Take care and keep it growin'!
Brett
...motivation to cut or to keep growing?
Wanting to see how you will look with long hair is not a great goal. At least I don't think so. There will be months of hell
to go through and you
will be miserable for almost the whole time.
If you liked the way you used to look, then perhaps THAT was your ideal goal! Really long hair
is certainly NOT for every guy growing out his hair. It is important to understand that.
If you hate the way your hair makes you look, if you are miserable, if it interferes with your chances for finding a mate--or a job, then maybe long hair is not for you. Be honest with
yourself, and think things over very carefully.
Good Luck!
Don't worry, you'll be past this stage of hair soon.
I'm pretty much where you're at with the hair. It looked a little better a couple of months ago, but now it's starting to get a little rebellious. Yeah it might look a little crappy for now, but whatever, you can take it right? Just suck it up and charge through this phase and it will look sweet when it's back in a tie.
You better grow it out longer so that I'm not the only one in this stage.
