Hi Everyone!!!
As some of you may know, I ran into a little problem a while back about whether to cut my hair our not for job purposes (i was trying to find a new job) well, I got a new job in sales, but this meant sacrificing my hair. I am not on here to rub it in anyone's face, I am on here to tell everyone that I had a great time growing out my hair and I really do hope I can grow it out again, but at this time, making a decent living has to take precedence. I won't post an updated pic on here because it seems like throwing salt in the eyes of the board, but I am back to something close to a spikey buzz cut. I wanted to thank everyone on here for their support and encouragement, especially David N, James Raymond, Tristan and Walter to name only a few. I am sorry that I cut my hair, I miss it more than words alone can describe. But I feel that, even though I miss it, it was a worthy sacrifice to get a better paying job. I love all of you and I will continue to be a lurker, but I won't post anything since I am no longer a long hair. Take care everyone, Happy Growing, and I hope there are no hard feelings.
Danny
Life conditions must come above life ambitions.
Theres no need not to post anymore though, you're in a better position than people like me who have never had longhair in memory.

Hi, Danny:
Well, I think you're to be congratulated for doing what you had to do. I know it must be difficult having to lose such beautiful hair, but it will grow back after all.
No need not to post anymore; you are always welcome here.
Randy
Hey Danny
Don't be too hard on yourself. You had to do what you had to do, and I don't blame you. Making a living is far more important than hair. Hopefully, someday, you will be able to grow it long once again. I wish you nothing but the best. Take care and don't be a stranger
Chris H
No one can fault you for doing what you had to do to survive. As the others have said, no need to be a stranger, after all, you are still a supporter of the long hair cause.
Bruce
It's a shame, as you had such a unique head of hair, Danny, but we all have hard choices. I certainly wish you the best of luck with your new line of work, and maybe someday you'll be a longhair again. =)

Well you have to do what you have to do mate in life and it's your hair and decision.
It's funny that's the third person I know that have cut their hair this week and I hope it's not a new epidemic.
Cheers,
John.B
Hello,
I hope it is not a disturbing trend, but with news of recession, some people fear their heads will come off like that of King Charles when it comes time to downsize. Some think that the less presentable ones are the first to go when come time to downsize.
I found this video from a comic troupe called "The Carry On Gang", called "The sad Cavalier". Lots of humour about long hair in this one.
Have a good day,
Georges.
The Carry On Gang sketch with long-haired Cavaliers.
Congrats on the new job, Danny!!!
You'll always have time to grow it out again...I didn't do it until I was in my 40s, so there!
Take care and keep it growin'...or should I say "keep sellin'"

Hi Danny,
I am happy that you have found good job. It's a shame that you had to cut your hair for it, but we can all hope for a day quite soon when hair length will no longer be such an issue in the job market.
I am sorry to hear that you miss your hair so much. I hope that some day in the not-too-distant future you will find yourself being able to reclaim your long hair identity. In the meantime, you have the satisfaction of knowing that you made the smart decision for you right now.
I hope that you will continue to post and not just lurk. You have valuable advice to give, especially to those just beginning their journeys.
All the best,
Franny
None of us are absolutely free to do whatever we want to do in life (even though
we may believe the opposite of that).
At this point in your life, your career is more important than your hair. It's clear from what you wrote in your post that you
were NOT given a choice in the matter, so you did not have to agonize over
your decision.
There are some members here who are absolutely miserable with their hair for any number of reasons.
So after waiting for maybe two weeks, if they still feel that cutting their hair
is the right thing to do, then they should not have any regrets about cutting.
We come together in this place to encourage others on their Long Hair Journey,
but I think many of us are also supportive of those who have made the decision to cut off their long hair.
Yours is such a case and instead of being criticized or put down everyone is patting you on the back and wishing you the best.
See what a nice bunch we are!
Good Luck!
Hey Danny,
Well I know its getting kind of depressing hearing now you needed to cut your hair for a job but hey you gotta make a living so who can fault you on that.It seems like there has been a flurry of this lately but for different reasons.Anyway like the others said why not post if you like as at least you are a longhair in spirit. Its really sad when one gets pushed into a corner to make this sacrifice but I'm sure when the time is right you'll be regrowing your fantastic hair again:)Whatever your selling I hope you make a million so you can retire early and have long hair again!Take care and best of luck.Mark
I think you need to stick around. I'm sorry you had to cut your hair and know it was a hard decision. You have a great attitude and outlook on this, and best of luck in your new job. Something to keep in the back of your mind -- think about getting all the education you can, the more the better. The more education, the better the job -- which usually means less hair restrictions; you make more of your own rules.
Hi Danny..
I'm sorry you had to cut your hair. You were doing very well..
But, I do understand your situation completely. You have to be able to take care of yourself and provide for yourself; and no matter what that takes.. you must succeed with this. Nobody can fault you for that man.. Hopefully one day, society will get away from corporate thinking and not place stereotypes on men and women as to what is correct and incorrect on appearance and none of this will matter. I think we all wish for that day..
Anyway, I do wish you best of luck in all that you do and I know that if one day you are able to re-grow your hair; it'll rock then as well..
Take care and do keep us up to date with yourself..
Be Blessed..
Tristan
I'm going to be the first one to say that I would never cut my hair off for a job. The way I see it, I always figure you might cut your hair and not get the job anyway. I'm a stubborn old b*gg*r, though. In the end, I think keeping long hair requires the constitution of a mule, and I have that gift, LOL! Not everyone is so blessed!
I never judge other people for having short hair, though. Life's too short.
Hi Danny,
Of course I am sorry to hear that you had to cut such wonderful hair as yours, but remember, this is only a short term thing. Congratulations on finding this job, and I am sure there will be opportunities in the future for jobs where you can grow your hair as long as you wish.
Also, remember that you are ALWAYS welcome here at the hyperboard, so never, ever feel that you have to stop posting. There will never be any hard feelings at all.
Take care,
David
Of course there are no hard feelings after all one has to eat
and one needs an income to do that. maybe someday down the road you can try again.
Good luck on the new job.
Kevin
If they wanted you to cut your hair then who knows what else they want you to change.
Hi Everyone!
thanks for the support and understanding. When I cut my hair I told my boyfriend "you know, what I'm looking forward to even less than this (cutting my hair) is telling everyone on the board" He knows about the board because he is the one who would take my update pics for me. I was so worried that I would disappoint you and lose my place here. For those who don't agree with what I've done. Hell, I don't agree with what I've done, but for the sake of making a living, it needed to be done. I am as stubborn as mule, perhaps more so, but i am so not blind as to see that sometimes, sacrifices need to be made, even if they are very painful ones. *sigh* Thanks again for the support everyone. I do look forward to the day when I can start growing it out again, maybe by that time It will be completely white and silver, that should look interesting on a guy in his late 20's hehehe. Ciao!!!
Danny
