Well ive been watching this board for the past week or so and have decided that i would enjoy being part of this community. I figure that if i want to, people might as well see my hair. I'm considering getting a trim because my hair is uneven, but ive been growing my hair for the past 3 years, so im a little wary of losing any length.
Kane, man, as a lifelong (well, almost!) longhair myself, I'd like to welcome you to the board. Seriously. Your hair's great. I much prefer the "uneven" length myself. Truly an excellent achievement. Music any? Just asking. Our members span Classical (hey, Justin!) to Black Metal (hey, Erik Anders!), to my own genre of, uh, well, everything rock 'n roll (I'm a singer) . . . Once again, Kane, welcome to our community!
Yours for longhaired camaraderie,
Q.
To old-school Death Metal!
Also, I have to say you have amazing hair. I like the jet-blackness of it.
Well thank you for the welcoming. About music: if you look at the bottom of the picture, you can actually see my guitars headstock, so i play guitar. I actually like to play viking metal, seeing as it is my favorite type of music.
Prog?
I wish I had that color of hair, looks great!
Welcome. Have some great length there.
Really nice hair and I love the LoZ poster on the wall.
It's V-shaped, not uneven, that's different! I prefer this kind of shape, personally ( my hemline is V-shaped); I'd say, have a trim if your hair is damaged, otherwise don't touch it! It looks good to me.
BTW, welcome!!!
Hi Kane,
Glad you found our community here and thanks for the update pic. You hair looks in great shiny condition and a natural colour was well. It's nice to see a natural "V" shape at the ends and from what I can see the ends don't look damaged. I certainly would not suggest a trim unless you want the ends to have a straight look to them. I'd keep it growing and fine example of well looked after longhair.
You got good taste music and nothing wrong with Viking metal asn some great bands to come out of Scandinavia. It's great to see bands like Turisas, Korprkanni and Amon Amarth playing the festivals like Wacken in Germany.
Cheers,
John.B
Welcome Kane, you've some great there! I resisted trimming for the same reason and actually I didn't mind the unevenness at all, but I began to see too many split ends, so I trimmed. So if your not seeing a lot of splits, (you're always going to see some), I'd say let it grow!
Musically speaking, I like anything from Björk to Opeth. I tend to be musically spastic, generally I don't listen to anything on corporate radio.

Welcome, Kane. I'm delighted that you have decided to become part of this wonderful community.
Your hair looks great. Thank you for sharing the photo.

thank you to everyone for the warm welcoming. I thought about trimming it to make it straight, seeing as ive seen a LOT of pictures like that, so i thought my hair was sort of...abnormal, but i see now that it is common, so i am going to avoid trimming it (i don't have many split ends).
Welcome and glad you have found us. Your long hair is absolutely magnificent and the shine out of this world.
About a trim: some things to consider:
1. If what you see is "uneven" at the bottom of the back, that is 100% normal and known as the "V Shape." Aspired to by so many and the natural way the hair will grow. If cut, unless by someone sensitive to a long haired needs, all could be ruined in appearance. But then, some desire a straight-across cut in the back. All depends on what you want.
2. If you are considering a trim just because you think you need one but are having no troubles with tangles, snarles and knots like you wouldn't believe, I would be inclined to leave well enough alone. Your long hair is simply just too fantastic the way it is.
3. If you are considering a trim because of tangles, knots or snarles that are driving you banannas, THEN a small trim would definately be in order at this point and the comb will once again go right through your hair like a breeze.
4. As far as to "Even things up," when you think of it technically, that is really impossible as the hair will never be absolutely even in length. Why? Because old hairs are being shed daily at the normal rate of 100 a day. Meanwhile new growth is following, and of course has to begin all over again.
In any event, welcome again and best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do.

Hi Kane,
Sorry for being a bit late, but I would like to welcome you to the hyperboard, and would like to add that your hair looks superb in this photo. It is in great condition, and you have come a long ways in 3 years. Be sure to keep it growing!
Keep it growing,
David
