Hey guys,
I know this probably a basic question but I have some concern about going on vacation with my family. The reason here is because I am going to be in a indoor water park for four days, well starting in March. But to the point for those four days I plan to be in the water most of the time which contains Chlorine! I was told that you had to wash your hair a lot so you don't get the bad affects of chlorine.
Which I had no problem washing my hair every day as a short haired person that didn't care much about his hair. Now that I am nearing my year maker in a month and a half I don't want to screw it up. I currently wash my hair like on Monday then wash it again on Thursday kind of spacing and it seems to do wonders for my hair :-)
I guess I am asking if anyone has advice for being at a pool or water park for several days in a row? Like do I have to change any routines or anything extra care I need to know of?
Once again I am sorry to bug you with such a basic question but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-J
Hi,
The simplest thing you can do is to thoroughly wet your hair, and then apply a thick layer of deep conditioner (or oil) before going for the plunge. After your time in the water, wash your hair with clarifying shampoo, and then deep condition again.
Wearing a swim cap would be an added advantage.
Hmm oil in the hair might tick them off if it gets in the water. I like the conditioner idea though, less noticable maybe. And the cap.
The swim cap is a good idea, both to protect your hair and to show you are a good citizen, long hair can clog pool drains and filters. Added bonus, you can do your deep conditioning, and not worry about the product rinsing off and clouding the pool water.
If you're in the US, look for Ultra Swim shampoo and conditioner.
