Long time....hope all have been well.
Anybody here ever work for Capital One, or have connections who have?
I'm about to start at a helldesk position there, and I've been told they're pretty relaxed re: internal dress code, but was hoping I could get more specifics, i.e. how they respond to facial hair and earrings.
Much obliged....

The easiest thing to do is (A) for your first day to NOT wear any earrings and trim up your beard; (B) go in and see what, if any, the folks already there are wearing, maybe even ask around. Good luck with the new job.

Thanks for the thoughts. That was more or less my plan, I'm even considering getting my hair evened up a bit, and offsetting the beard with a nice dress shirt...

Capital One had all those commercials with the long hair bearded Viking's had to take on new jobs because raping and pillaging were no longer popular.
I suggest you just be yourself. If anyone asks about your appearance, Tell them you're one of the vikings from the commercials.
I guess I should probably leave home the axes & swords, wolf skulls & bear skins, huh? :)

i would think if they hired you with your current appearance, it shouldn't be an issue. they knew what they were getting themselves into, right? :)
Nope - it's through a contract house, they did a phone interview and hired me without ever meeting in person.

then i would also think that if they are willing to hire people based solely on phone interviews, they can't complain if they don't like your look.
