Are there any good products out there to straighten hair? I have fairly straight hair, but the bottom in the back is really curly and sticks out in every direction and i want to get it completely straight.
I have to tell you that there are really no straightening product that are good for your hair.
The only thing I could suggest is to try some gel. The weight of it might straighten your hair somewhat.
My best suggestion is for you to embrace your waves. I'm sure that if you looked at yourself the way you might look at others, you'll see that your hair is perfect as it is.
Best of luck,
Franny
Hey Corvette Mike, howya doin'? I must confess, the thought of chemical adulterants for air straightening has always given me the heebie-geebies, since the place always ends up smelling like a photo-finishing studio. Blegh. But, I know that other peops use 'straighteners. Not me, though. My girlfriend and I in high school would actually iron our hair on an ironing board, literally, to get that straighter than straight affect. It never hurt our hair, by the way. Ya might wanna give this technique some consideration, IF your hair's long enough, that is. Happy ironing!
Yours for hair straightening AND long haired camaraderie,
Q.
I'm not sure the ironing board thing would work on me yet. This is the closest thing I could find to where mine is at now... What about mouse, never tried it, could that control it a little?
Reminds me of the keyboard player out of the band called "Sparks"!
Cheers,

Holy crud, I've heard of them! Well, I have their song "Goofing Off". I don't have much opportunity to listen to non-mainstream music, so many of the musical discussions go over my head. I'm thrilled when I can "get" a reference.
If anything, that'd cause MORE damage, since hair straighteners are designed to work on hair. The amount of heat in an iron would KILL hair.
If you're going to straighten, I'd consider using a cermaic straightener. They cause less damage because they seal in moisture, but keep in mind they still cause damage.
irons work great. the Chi ceramic iron works even on the curliest of hair. u dont have to use a lot of product either. if u do decide to use an iron, give ur hair breaks between ironing.
