Thanks for the earlier follow up, Ricrac.
I should have been a little more specific in my previous post.
A few egg-whites will certainly not lead to egg-white injury syndrome, however, at the time I was thinking of a show on television where a plastic surgeon would get up every morning and drink something like 12 raw egg-whites for the high quality protein. Egg-whites are a very high quality source of protein, but, he could have been putting himself at risk for EWIS if he continued to do this for a long time. Other than that I suspect that some bodybuilders may consume too many egg-whites, again, for the protein.
The most important thing to remember here, is that raw egg-whites may be contaminated with salmonella bacteria and that could be a very serious problem. I nearly died when I was a kid due to salmonella, but, it was not from raw egg-whites, or, at least I don't think it was.

I may have misinterpreted this post but .... If your looking for a great protein source and don't want eggs. Try ground Cannabis seeds, probably sold as hemp seed. The best, bar none, source of protein on the planet. Sold in most health food stores in bulk and/or 1 - 5 Lb. packages.
Thanks for the advice, Quester.
Actually, there was a post very far down that mentioned the use of Biotin and egg-white injury syndrome was brought up. I generally drink soy shakes, but, I will heed the advice, concerning the hemp seeds.
Anyone know if it's 4:20 yet? lol
jeffrey.
It's always 4:20 here at the Temple. We broke our clock! :-)
Ha! That doesn't sound like a bad idea.
A while back some of us tried purple sticky salvia which is legal here in Arkansas. Talk about some weird stuff. I think it may be good for hair, so this "might" not be too off topic. I know it made my hair feel like a muskrat was crawling down my back. It's very expensive though.

Our Ministers supply for our congregation. Great group.

I nearly died from salmonella too, at age 9. I had turtles for pets at the time and I did not wash my hands well enough after handling them. This was in 1962. Always wash your hands after handling any kind of reptile.

Absalom, you hit the nail right on the head! I had turtles for pets and the Doctor told my Mother that I had almost certainly handled the turtles and then handled food without washing my hands and I am sure that he was right. I was 6 at the time. I was too sick to transport to Memphis by air. I had a very high fever for a prolonged period of time, which probably explains why I am the way I am now. lol
Very interesting.
jeffrey.
For me, I figured it out 25 to 30 years after the fact. Maybe around 1990 I found out about the turtle salmonella connection.
I had severe dehydration from vomiting and diarrhea and a fever too. I was never hospitalized but should have been. I could have easily died.

whew! that makes one think...
