Yeah, exactly what IS mousse? Further down the scroll Corvette Mike asks if it'd help straighten his hair. All this talk of salmonella poisoning and egg yolk slushies made me wonder what mousse is. It DOES dry on the hair to give it that "stiffened" spiky-haired punk rock. Is it eggs?
Q.
Not exactly sure about mousse, but, some people do use bull semen to spike their hair. Just be sure not to get any in your mouth, because, it may contain salmonella.

Whoa, I thought that THAT was the main ingredient in Elmer's Glue-All all along! LOL! Seriously though, the (very nebulous-sounding) ingredient "hydrolyzed animal protein" can infer anything from boiled down bones, animal afterbirth, or (gasp!) even actual terminations. Maybe the movie cult classic "Fight Club" wasn't too far off, to paraphrase Ed Norton's alter ego, portrayed by Mr. Angelina Jolie, "We're vacuuming the cellulite outta their fat selves and then selling it all back to them as soap!"
Oy vey! Well, "Curiouser and curiouser", as Alice said in her travels and travails through Wonderland. Thanks, Mr. North Virginia and Mr. Lone Star Stae, thanks. You guys rock.
Q.
This is a question that's easily answered by reading the bottle, but a 5-minute google revealed nothing. Maybe somebody who really wants to know can put in the time and find out.
I seriously doubt it has egg or any other perishable ingredients in it. If it does have perishable ingredients, they must balance that out with outrageous ammounts of preservatives, which might explain the alcohol content in some of these things.
I would guess the glycerin is a major component.
The bit about bull semen sounds like a joke. Don't they use that for the obvious purpose of inseminating livestock? Maybe they use it to get hormones, but hair products? Seems a bit far-fetched.

I just found this online, so I make no claims about its quality or effectiveness. I don't have enough hair yet to make it worth trying, but if anyone here wants to give it a shot, I'd be interested in hearing your opinion!

Storage:
Most recipes require refrigeration since they don't contain preservatives. Shelf Life is approximately 1 week.
The mousse products I had used seemed to be more like a thicker, whipped hairspray, the same general ingredients, just in a different proportion to give a consistency.
Unless you're talking about the delicious, light pudding-like dessert...
