A couple friends of mine heard that Sen. Obama would be in Ohio for rallies in Cincinnati and Dayton, so they invited me along, knowing that I'm a total political junkie. I don't really support the man, but I won't pass up an opportunity to see a presidential candidate in person.
We started out sitting in the bleachers way up near the top of the side of the arena. Miraculously, however, a couple that were both alumni from my university sat down next to us, and they didn't want to use their premium floor access tickets, so they gave them to us instead. Before we knew it, we were down next to the stage.
As he came over toward our area of the fence line, he was signing autographs and shaking hands. He turned toward me, looked up, his eyes got quite big, and he said "hi there!", a bit surprised as I guess he didn't expect to see someone so tall. He then shook my hand and moved on through the crowd, also shaking my friends' hands and greeting them.
Overall, a totally awesome day! =D

Hi James!
Wow thats quite an exciting day you had as unexpected surprises are always cool.It must have been awesome to get those passes so you can get a close up view.I'm glad you had a good time and looking at this one pic it looks like Obama has good taste in watches.NICE TAG!!!!!LOL.If you don't know it I'm a big mechanical wristwatch fan and collector:)I have a whole bunch of Tags in my collection as I have a connection with an employee of the company.Great for getting nice discounts. Also James the hair is looking super. Can't wait for your next update.Take care my friend.Mark
That's cool James, he was in Wisconsin recently as our primary was last week he won WI by a wide margin although the predictions were it would be close. I was going to go see him but had to work the night before and after, one needs ones beauty sleep.
I assume you saw him in Indiana as they're primary is coming up I'm not sure when. Back when I lived there it was in early May.

Regardless of one's political convictions, it must have been fun to meet someone who is getting so much media attention.
Thanks for sharing!
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Good stuff James! It must be fun to meet the possible future president. Out of the democrats he comes in front of Hillary for me, but only in a "lesser of two evils" type of way.
To be honest, his speeches are too vague for me, his plans fiscally unrealistic and overly statist, and he's part of the CFR (so are all the other likely candidates). It's a shame politics nowadays is about choosing who will do less damage, as opposed to who will actually do some benefit.
.
OTOH, anyone would do less damage than the incumbent (unless McCain starts WW3) so it's hard to fail.
James! your experience with and photos of and with your friends as it regards Barack Obama are great. Thanks for posting. I didn't know that you were sooooo into pol. sci. (that's too k3wl, man!) It's nice ta know that there's still hope in tha world; ya get ta my age, though, and ya know that it's all rigged. Later, bro. Oh, BTW, you're lookin' more and more awesome the longer that your hair's getting. Definitely, keep it goin' and growin'.
Yours in apolitical and longhair'd camaraderie,
Quenyan (Eric)
It does sound like an awesome day, James, and I thank you for sharing it with us.
I'm delighted that you have strong interest in the political scene. I'm Canadian, so I will share no opinions, except to say that every country needs the under-25's to take an interest, learn the facts and finally get out and vote! Your generation is the one that can change the world.
Way to go James!

What is sad though is much of Obama's support comes from the under 25s. The same under 25s who don't bother to register
much less show up at the polls.
But then if you're under 25 you should vote, it's your money
these elected officials are spending and it is your age group
that ends up fighting their wars.
Hi James,
That is very cool that you got to meet someone who has been in the news every day, and that you had such an awesome day. Being a Canadian, I am not much into US politics, but am certainly aware of all the goings on in the LONG race up to the election of the next US president.
It is great to see you expressing an interest in the political scene yourself, and who knows, one day, we may even see a longhaired US president, that would be super cool!
Take care,
David
It's sad that even Hillary has short hair, don't you think?
Actually we had one. Google Bill Clinton from he was younger.
Oh and google that "Rock star" Benjamin Franklin.
Franklin, while an important figure in US history, never was President.
Hi James,
It looks like you had a great day out and it's nice that you get so close to the people that maybe making the decisions in a few months time. We are getting quite alot of coverage over here in the UK and certainly alot more interest than previous years.
I will certainly say that Obama is alot more dynamic than Gordon Brown and I doubt that you would get so close to him either.
Cheers,
John.B
That's really cool James and awesome you got so close to take the photos too. Of the remaining candidates he's definitely my choice.
great pics!!!
love Obama and hope to be voting for him for pres. very lucky to be there to hear him speak.
Great opportunity to see a possible future president.
BTW, I think I saw you on campus last week. I was driving north on McKinley next to Burkhardt, and there was a tall guy with long reddish brown hair standing at the bus stop wearing a spotted white coat (sort of like a leopard's spots).
Nope, I doubt it was me. One, I don't own a coat like that, and two, I'm not taking classes on campus this semester, so I really don't spend much time down around that area. Interesting that there is another guy on campus who resembles me. I'll have to keep an eye out... =)
-James
Speaking of people who resemble you, I saw a guy on the BSU shuttle the other day I thought was you for a sec, but he totally wasn't tall enough :)

And this relates to long hair on men how?
Let's stay on topic.
(Unless, along with his other millions of ideas, Obama says he'll end discrimination against men with long hair...;-)
This site is like one big family. We sometimes share events in our lives with one another, especially big events such as meeting a famous person or being on television. Not every thread will necessarily be about long hair, and if you don't like the topic of discussion at hand, then don't respond to it. It's that simple.
It does relate to longhair, YOU were there and you posted a picture which could be seen as an update!
Cheers Dave
Actually it does relate to long hair on men. I've been around
a long time and the last time I saw a candidate generate this
much enthusiasm among the citizens was in the late 60s when
I was growing my hair long and Robert Kennedy was all the rage.
Well we know happened to Robert Kennedy, hopefully the
secret service remembers it too.
Obama is a promising candidate.

I would say James is a "regular user". :)
Just as Jason says and why don't you become a regular part of our great community here and its all part of building a better community that's for sure.
Cheers,

How exciting James! I'd say with the inclusion of your face in the post it is very hair related, but even if it didn't, I would still say great news... post away!
Bruce
Ah, I think the studio had better fast track James Raymond's Day Off for this summer : )
But knowing he doesn't really have a chance at winning I am putting all my efforts to get obama elected. He could really start undoing the bad years of the Bush Administration. I was really digusted at Hillary Clinton's attempts to smear him and the way he handled those smears have gotten much respect from me.

Some long haired guys chained themselves to Hillary's campaign headquarters in New York today protesting NAFTA.
