Hello,
I was wondering if anybody knows of any way to make hair grow faster than its normal rate. I think that the average growth rate is about 0.5 inches per month. Mine seems to grow about 0.75 inches a month, but I would like it to grow faster. I heard that mint based shampoos will stimulate the hair growth rate. Has anybody tried this? any suggestions or comments will be very much appreciated. Thank you.
0.75 inches a month!!!! Consider yourself lucky, I wish mine would grow that fast!
Hey Chris, what's that Guns 'n Roses song about giving it a little patience? I know what with genetics being what they are, ya might wanna just weather out the storm. Granted, things with minty-mint in their formulae MIGHT add a certain oomph ta thuh whole hair growth process, and you're fortunate that yours is faster (?) than the average of 0.5 per month.
Biotin products, though NOT hair gowth accelerants per se, MIGHT help, seeing that there's the whole amino acids, mint, and vanilla thing goin' on, hence their fragrance. One might even suggest oral supplements, too, containing folic acid and the other B family vitamins. Zinc, mixed tocopherols, and selenium (all reverse-agers, BTW) could ALSO be of some help. Me? I'm a big Cajun cuisine aficianado. I swear that cayenne helps me. Just my thoughts.

Hello
Probably the best way is to get a qualified practitioner to give you Indian Head Massage. Best of luck in your quest.
Yours is one of the most-asked questions on this board. The other posters and lurkers here are going to have to forgive me, because I'm sure that I'm sounding very repetitive at this point. I'm a physician who has looked at the published research. Throughout the millenia and centuries of scientific study, there has been nothing shown to be effective in making hair grow faster in people who are otherwise healthy. This means no vitamins, no biotin, no lotions, no creams, no shampoos, no conditioners, no sprays, no spices, no herbs, no ointments, no balms, no minerals, no salves, no rinses, no foams, no powdered shakes, no chants or mantras, no massages, no incantations, no exercises, etc. have been proven to be of any help whatsoever. When such a product is developed or food has been discovered or exercise has been created with the outcome you seek, you will know about it, because the whole world will know about it. You won't have to go to an internet message board to find out about it.
Improving the overall health of the hair is important. So anything you do to help it is a benefit.
- Massaging the scalp can help blood circulation to the hair roots.
- Vitamins
- Trim those split ends so you don't end up needing a big cut to get rid of them. Split ends will never "heal", they'll just keep going up the hair shaft until the entire hair strand is ruined. During my growing process, I got an 1/8" trim from my trusted stylist every 12 weeks.
- Use a good conditioner.
There is a product called Viviscal that has been used by models to increase hair growth. I did take Viviscal and I grew mine to my waist in about 3 years. I think it increased the health and rate of growth of mine.

It's a large post with many testimonials, so it's worth waiting until the site is back up.

For a natural way, don't pay attention to it. If you are constantly looking the length of your hair everyday it's going to seem like an eternity for it to grow. But, if you don't pay attention your hair, it will jump inches! It worked for me, just don't concentrate on your length so much.
That's exactly the way to do it! I just started ignoring mine and now it seems like just yesterday it was way shorter. Now it's hanging in my eyes!
No, there isn't.
