The other day, Steve NoVA and I went to Half Moon Bay [in CA] to photograph some of the surfers. It was real windy and the surf wasn't the best but there were still a few surfers trying to catch a good wave. The waves were much better a couple of weeks ago. There's also some pics from then. Enjoy!

Surfing and other pics...
Those were some lovely photos Rick thanks for sharing.
I am oh so sick of winter it's nice to see sunshine and
greenery. The beach pics were especially nice.
Take care
Kevin
Glad you enjoyed the pics, Kevin. I can relate about the weather there. I'm originally from Michigan and I know what the winters are like... crappy!
--Rick
And they are magnificent photos indeed! Great Photography.
This one caught my eye in particular. Do you remember what that ob ject was in the sky on the left hand side?
Take care Rick
Justin
Hello Everyone,
By zooming in the picture, you will see that it is slightly asymetric, and suggests a flying bird. Being fascinated myself with UFO's I love to analyse pictures and take a critical look.
If you sent this to www.ufocasebook.com, it would be published, and published as "Unknown ob ject in Californian sky".
If it were more symetric, not taking consideration of one pixel on the right, you may see an "adamski" type saucer, seen November 20, 1952 by a hamburger-stand owner and self-styled "professor", who photographed saucers with his amateur telescope.
On November 20, 1952, Adamski met an alien supposedly from Venus, and had a really shocking appearance for 1952: No he did not look like a slimy creature from the then-popular b-movies, instead, he looked very much like one of us, except for his surfer-like long, blonde hair.
I sometime like to let my imagination go wild at times :)
Have a nice day,
Georges in Montreal
A Ufological historian, Art Campbell, was just on LAST NIGHT on that favorite overnight radio talk show of us Ufologists, cryptozoologists, and paranormal investigators, "Coast to Coast AM w/ George Noory"; although promoting his book, the website hereby offered has encapsulations from ALL of its chapters w/ photos, including a semi-artificial alien grey combination lung-heart, found at one of the more severe crash sites:
http://ufocrashbook.com/
I MUCH prefer the "Orthon" kind of extraterretrial, Georges, what with their comely human features and their long hair; SOME researchers speculate that they're descendants of ours whose ancestors left the Earth prior to the Noahnic Deluge and they're coming back. Too cool.
Yours for more humanoid, longhaired "Visitors",
The Q.
They do exist! I knew it!!
LOL
Kevin
Hi Rick,
Thanks for sharing the pictures and Half Moon bay is somewhere I've always wanted to visit and seen the signs from the interstate but never had the time to see for myself. But next time I'm over I've put that on my list.
So do you surg or planning to take it up.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John,
Glad you like the pics. I currently don't surf but have often thought it'd be great to take a few lessons and try it at least once for the experience. Still have to think about that one... :)
Look me up the next time you're here in the states. I really enjoyed meeting you last April!
Take care,
--Rick
Hi Rick
Wow those are some great pics of the surf at Half Moon Bay!Well I guess I'll get the chance to see them first hand as I'm going on a weeks vacation to CA. at the end of April and I will be staying in Half Moon Bay at my brother's house. He has lived there around five years now since moving from Freemont. Also looks like you guys had a great time in SF this weekend.I hope to stop by there myself as its been awhile:)Mark
We've been talking about our next rendezvous for the group to be a coastal one, with lunch at Duarte's in Pescadero. The coast is at its most beautiful in late April. Wildflowers should be incredible. Should we time our rendezvous for when Hairball is here?
Bill
Hi Bill,
Sure I'd like to do something such as that.I'll be flying out west on Saturday April 26 and will be leaving to head home on Saturday May 3rd.Not sure what my schedule will be like that week but I'm sure I can work around whomever might be available.Keep me posted and thanks for asking too:)Mark
Shall we schedule it for Sunday, April 27? I know that is one day after you arrive, but that is the only weekend day you have, and we will surely get a larger turnout on the weekend.
Bill
Sure that should be fine as I figured the weekend is probably better for everyone even though I'm on vacation.Just keep me posted as things develope or if the date has to change.Right now I'm just going to wing it that week as I have no concrete plans yet.Thats what I like about vacations..... no real schedule just do what you want when the time comes:)Thanks for your ideas on the day.
Mark
Great pictures Rick, those are some serious slamming waves !
Cheers Dave
Thanks, Dave. Biggest waves I've seen around here in a long time. One of the surfers who saw the pics Steve and I took emailed us and was saying that one of the waves he rode was about 30' high! Can you just imagine this? Dropping down the face of a wave that big... whoah!! Steve managed to get a pic of that wave. I missed it. Oh well... there'll be others!

Wow! Thank you so much for posting these beautiful photos. What a lovely way for me to start my morning. I dare not look out the window right now. I'll just keep looking at those pics instead, and dream.
My Hair Site
You're quite welcome, Franny! I'll be posting more every so often so check back every now and then.

in your photo, Rick. There has been a lot of UFO activity in that area. I have a photo of a UFO fron Big Basin as well.
Scott
Here is the Big Basin UFO.
Scott
Thanks, Scott; here's Linda Moulton Howe's website. She's got a HEAP of stuff on that weird, unmanned, dragonfly/egg-beater-lookin' remote-controlled craft and tons more:
http://earthfiles.com
Remember, children, never stand directly under an airborne (or landed, for that matter) aircraft whose origins are questionable . . . ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAP!
The Q.
Linda Moulton Howe's place . . .
Hi Absalom,
I have been following this Big Basin "drone" sighting reports for some time. Linda Howe has been doing a great job of reporting on these on here web site www.earthfiles.com
I found an amazing YouTube video of a spiky drone like ob ject over the city of Sao Paolo a while back.
Best regards,
John
I'm just sitting here looking stupid, with my mouth hanging open. That's an incredible video.
--Val
Howdy Val,
Cool! Glad you checked it out. That one is considered by fellow UFO researchers to be most likely one of the few authentic drone videos out there. I have seen some fascinating (supposed) leaked details concerning these "drone devices" I do have a link to an in depth file on this I can share sometime if you are interested?
Best regards for a greater understanding of a mystery,
John
Hi Scott,
That is quite an amazing photo, and it is filled with so much detail as well!
David
..very much like an airship from Final Fantasy 8 (I believe).
Hello Rick G.
This is John S. I just had to respond to your pictures especially the one tittled: "Surf at Half Moon Bay CA after a storm. Taken January 5, 2008". There definitely is an unidentified flying ob ject in that picture! Wow! What a rare capture for sure. I hop you don't mind I enlarged and enhanced the ob ject in the photo so we could all see it better. I will post more info on this topic shortly.
With my best regards, John S.
I've seen objects like that at the beach before. Usually the pointy ends of them, like you see in the enhanced photo that John posted, are eating fish. [grin]
Bill
That is a bird in flight, no question, space ships LOL!!
The enhanced image shows its actual shape. It does look like
a seagull from the side. When I magnified it, the shape
appeared to be more like that of a flattened bell. A
flattened bell shape is classic for flying saucers. UFOs are
real, but many sightings are explainable, like this one, which
turns out to be a bird.
Scott
Just one more follow up here,
This is one of the only UFO pictures I ever managed to take (unknowingly) while out on a walk back in April 23-2000. There are full details on this page.

John
I don't know what Absolom has there, looks like some good editing; but I know that gulls are all over that beach. Sometimes they fly close enough to look like a gull to the camera. Other times they fly far enough away to look like a little pixelated blob. Then, your imagination goes to work.
Definitely a bird. If it were something else, I'm sure we'd all be hearing about it by now... :) Besides, where this pic was taken, is only about 500ft. from the radar at the Pillar Point Air Force Base. :)
--Rick
Well of course, after all, they are the ones who were flying it. :)
ROFL! Good one!
When I posted to Rick yesterday asking if he could remember what this ob ject was, little did I know how many postings were going to appear about it at the time.
This is the best I could do of a close-up of this ob ject "before distortion sets-up." It appears to be "Bell-Shaped" to my eyes. I have played around slightly with the colours so that it might be seen at its best.
Justin~
Worked on it a bit more. Closer with as little distortion as I was able.
