I am actually believe it or not, getting to quite like my tail now. Pretty much all of it goes in and with the summer coming up I will at least feel less of a dork then before!
I still have those annoying short bits on the side but I guess I have to live with those - I can't cut them off.
Oh and I know I use the horrible metal clip type bands, but they are all I can find that hold it properly, the others just seem to be too stretchy or not stretchy enough.
I am looking for some funky colours (rasta, rainbows, hippy type stuff) but can't find any, any ideas?
Cheers everyone. Dave
Looking good, mate.
If you're after hair ties without the metal clips on them, Sainsbury's do some. Less damaging to the hair.
I know what you mean about the fluffy bits. I usually get mine clippered cos they never grow longer than an inch or two and just stick straight out. Your other other options with a tail are just to gel them or pin them up.
Thanks for the tips Viking, I have a Sainsburys a mile from where I work so I'll take a look. I'm not really into gelling or pinning.
Cheers Dave
Nor am I. More hassle than they're worth.
VERY nice tail shot, Dave. Did your hair really grow this past month, or am I just imagining things? Anyways, it looks spectacular. Hope all is well for you. =)
-James
Hi James, I don't think my hair is growing particularly fast, although with the added length comes added weight and therefore maybe its straighter.
Thanks and regards, Hope you are having fun, Dave
That is a great ponytail, Dave. You have good length now. I am not aware of the stores in the UK, so it would be hard to recommend one that has soft cloth hair ties. I know they are made in China, so maybe a store that sells imported goods may have them. I use 2 of them one on top of the other to hold my ponytail. That will solve the too stretchy problem. I get my hair ties at dollar stores. Do they have pound stores in the UK? A package can have 40 or more hair ties in it. Maybe you can find them at an outdoor flea market too.
Scott
Yes we do have £ stores in the UK, I will find some I am determinded to. Thanks for the comments Scott.

Cool ponytail Dave! Looks really thick and long now!
Can't wait til i can pull of something similar:D
Hey thanks Simon, stick at it and you will be there soon enough.
Cheers Dave
Hi Dave,
I had NO idea that your ponytial was this long, and it looks fabulous! It seems your growth rate has taken off in the past month or so for some reason. Another thing that seems to be happening is that your hair appears to be getting straighter as it is getting longer!
Cheers,
David
Hello David, you know it maybe getting a bit straighter with the extra weight and therefore is looking longer all of a sudden.
Thanks for your continued support,
Dave
Nice tail, Dave! As for the ponytail bands, I'm not how much of a do-it-your-self kinda guy you are, but you might be able to make your own. You could just sew some colorful fabric around a regular band.
Mouse
Sew? Me? LOL yeah right!!
Thanks for the tips and comments though, looking forward to your next update, cheers Dave
Ach du Liebe! Totally ace, Mr. Dave; pretty soon you'll be able ta make a bee butt bun, using hair sticks, like Caledonian and I, among others, do! All right! And, f'I'd been remiss, Myco-Gnome (formerly G-man) sez ta tell ya your hair's lookin' "killer" . . . I like the length, the fullness, the wildness, and the many-hued natural colours thatcha show.
As for the funkiness of augmented natural colours, since you asked, Manic Panic, and Fudge, and Krazy Kolor are all three big competitors; methinks sisters Tish and Snooky's is dah adsolute bomb, though. Check 'em out here:

Later, bro! Yours in longhair'd camaraderie,

Regards Dave
Hey Dave..
Awesome tail man. Your hair just gets better each time I see an update. I know what you mean about the sides having some short areas.. Those are a pain.. I've got them too.. :(
Keep up the great work..
Talk to you soon..
Tristan
Painful those curly bits, but there you go, the life of a longhair.
Take it easy and thanks for the comments Tristan.

Looks great, Dave!! Try Scunci brand hair ties. They're metal free and come in a huge variety of colors.
Thanks Randy, I will keep my eyes open.
Hope all is well with you.
Dave
"...I am looking for some funky colours (rasta, rainbows, hippy type stuff) but can't find any, any ideas?..."

Hello !
It look really great , i don't know why but your hair look something "wild" it's great !
one weird thing about you is that you look a bit like the singer of Gorgoroth
Cya
Thanks Angel, and yes he does bear a resemblance, I like it wild me!
Dave
Nice tail there, Dave. Seems as if you've had a hair growth spurt this month. Keep up the hearty growth and keep the "not bad looking" tail growing.
Chris H
Thanks Chris, great to hear from you.
Take care, Dave
That tail looks terrific Dave! Your hair seems to have had a very pronounced growth spurt lately. Eventually most of those annoying shorter hairs will reach the tie too. Isn't it a great feeling to have reached such a milestone?!
It sure is satisfying, I agree I am going to let the side keep growing in their sloooooow old way and eventually patience will win out. Afterall this long hair growing is a lifelong thing for me now so i just have to persevere.
Cheers Dave
Your tail is looking WONDERFUL!
As far as hair tyes, I did notice you are in the UK area, not sure how close to London you are, but I know during my stay there, I found two stores that carried many hair tyes in odd colors since at the time I was in my 'oh my gosh lets look like a rainbow' stage and they made me have normal coloured hair for my performance so I had to make up with funky hair tyes. I believe, if I recall correctly, they were Boots and Sainbury's, both stores that we (sadly) do not have in the US of A. Both carried lots of fun hair things and tons of the Scunci no damage hair tyes that come in an absolute ton of fun colors. I prefer the uber thick ones because they have a wonderful amount of stretch and don't fall apart like the skinny ones do. Gives a nice grip on the hair but also is big enough that the color is noticeable.
Hopefully that will help some, keep on growing, it looks wonderful!
Thanks Kett for your really kind comments a great tips. Viking replied further down the thread and mentioned Sainsburys so I will go and take a look.
Oh! and I nearly forget, LOVE that hair colour of yours, amazing!!
Thanks again and see you around, Dave
Hey Dave, now that's a great tail. You have come such a long way and I always get motivated after your posts. Keep up the great work buddy.
Cheers,
Max
Hey Thanks Max, I feel humbled that somebody might be spurred on by my hair farming.
Take care buddie, see you around the ranch, Dave
Hey Dave Great Tail!!!
I have to admit you have somewhat tamed that wild and crazy hair of yours as I didn't think it could be done:)Regardless your hair is lookin' awesome, and see patience is paying off now and I'm sure your glad you didn't fall into that trimming trap thing.Check out this web site for colourful hair ties as I bought some and they don't have that dreaded metal clip that loves to catch your hair when putting it on or taking it out.It is as follows www.scunci.com
They are gentle and hold the tail tighter than those really stretchy ones.Take care my friend and I'm sure your long hair by this summer will be outstanding.Mark
Dave I just checked that web site and what you need to do is look under "elastics"as these are the ones I bought and I think they are great.Mark
looks very nice! keep it growing and ignore the flyaway bits. tc and gl!
Thanks very much Aubrey!!
~ Dave
I guess I missed this post. Sorry. But, the tail looks great. I hope all is on the up and up with you over there across the pond. Keep the hair growing and let's watch spring spring. I bet you will find some cool places to photograph soon.
Thanks Matt, yes, I am planning some location shoots both for work and hair history!
